The resources were extremely helpful with planning and teaching. We completed the 'draw a profession' cards first to see what gender children viewed as doing each job. There was a stronger focus on males in each profession - which sparked good discussion around why children hadn't drawn females.

The title itself did not really resonate with the students but I am unsure of what I would change it to.

We loved the kit. We used the items to create feminist theatre pieces, particularly around women getting the vote, and the Maori Women's Welfare League.

This did not fit into our first unit however it does fit into our next unit and we will be using it this term. The students are really excited and are full of wonderings.

I am gutted I didn’t get this last year when it was the big celebration! Such an important topic for all New Zealanders my students saw the importance of why we were looking into the history. We loved the resources in the kit.
