How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? My tamariki really got that history is written by people, and it's woven of points of view, and that not all those points of view have been represented in official History.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? I can see how using the people more as characters is really engaging, and that relating it to current world events also helped students take an interest.
What an amazing kit! We loved the resources in the kit and especially the reality aspect of the museum part of the kit... Very cool. Here are some photos of the class exploring the character cards.

To Whom It May Concern Unfortunately due the lockdowns we have had and the need for changing of our long term plans, I was unable to implement the kit with my class. I apologies for this. I reviewed the contents and was excited but as mentioned we had to change our term plans to cater for the lockdown with a modified version of what we needed to cover. I am holding onto the kit in the hope that I can implement it in the near future. I will not be able to do this during this Term or the next. Apologies for that. Regards Anna

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? They really engaged with different characters and points of view. It broadened our discussions in many different ways which wouldn't have happened if the resources hadn't been so detailed and clear for them in the first place.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? The idea of taking one particular story and exploring it for it's meaning and different points of view is something I hadn't considered before because of the time it would have taken for me to design an activity by myself for my class. To have this alread
The detail in this kit is incredible. The thought and time that has been put in shows clearly through every single activity included in the pack.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? Allowing the kids time and space to discuss is just fantastic. It allows them to understand that history can be very biased and not always correct.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? I love being challenged to teach NZ History. As a white, middle class, Englishman, these are perspectives I need to understand better. Thank you for your help.
A really in depth, solid perspective building view of NZ history. One that the team should be very proud of. It creates interesting and challenging discussions when used well.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? They learnt that sometimes it is okay to agree to disagree. There is no one solution to a problem and this may mean they’d have to offer their own justifications to the discussions. The debate that ensued during the learning was impressive as students dis
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? I am a firm believer in knowing the different perspectives of NZ History. I’ve immersed myself in learning more about other perspectives that came about in the kit and though I will not enforce my own beliefs to children, I am pleased at the fact that the
WOW! What an informative and rich kit for students to learn more about perspectives and the language / dialogue that came about during and after the unit. I was pleased that students had great resources to work with and in turn, they were able to make their own justified opinions. I loved the artefacts and as a teacher, you seek better ways to connect learning with the curriculum. This kit did just that. Thanks School Kit!

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? It gave them more of an understanding of the saying there is two sides to every story and makes them realise that we all perceive things differently which was incredible and has even helped with behavior. This kit made it a lot more hands on and realise
I really enjoyed this kit it was so fascinating and seeing how the students reacted and even changing their points of view and gives them more of an understanding of the statement there is two sides to every story.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? I love how I can relate this to the everyday issues in my classroom - what would the other person say has happened?
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? It is given me a solid way to teach something I don't have a lot of knowledge about.
Wow! This kit has been amazing! We actually haven't finished yet, it has provided so much rich learning for my students. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be involved in this. My students are currently 'creating' their museum exhibits and they are having so much fun and learning so much!

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? The kit has been awesome to help my class understand that everyone has their own version of a story. That everyone's opinion should be valued. I have incorporated what's your story into my classroom behaviour plan and also story writing.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? I have really enjoyed looking at how other people were involved in New Zealand History and how there were different situations that Captain Cook was involved in.
I really enjoyed using this kit with my class as it gave them a platform to understand that everyone has a story. They are still in the process of creating a play to go with the kit.
