It has highlighted the importance of making sure we try to investigate all related stories from differing perspectives and viewpoints. It has shown me how interested students are in history and it need to be integrated as much as possible.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? They could see how people can interpret or making connections in different ways. We all learned something new and even the students who used the kit last year continued to learn.

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? We have done a lot of history learning this year and we enjoyed the connection between a one sided opinion.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? It brought honor and respect to different viewpoints. It allowed us to break down opinions vs. truth and look at the notion of 'Chinese Whispers' and oral histories and #fake news. A great link to BLM and current uncertain times to look at how different p

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? It allows for multiple views to be considered, respected and for Maori to have mana over their own perspectives, having them acknowledged. It is so important for students to have time to hear and reflect on New Zealand stories.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? The class debated a lot and then started to sit back and take on other peoples perspectives... this took a while to get to this stage. It has also helped with our learning into politics!

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? It has got the class thinking about the perspectives of different people and the fact that sometimes history isn't exactly what you have read!

“Once the class got into it, it was good but it took a while to get going. I think it was hard as we are so isolated in Wanaka. There was a lot of good learning towards the end of the project. Thank you for another great kit!”
