Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The jigsaw. Very visyal. Created lots of discussion. The challeng cards, made them think and work togther.

“The children were very excited when the boxes arrived, they were even more excited when they started to unwrap the boxes, there were lots of gasps and shouting out with joy. They enjoyed making the jigsaw and there was lots of discussion. They were in small groups to make the items, there were lots of negotiations. They enjoyed the challenge tasks, make a shed, a fence, etc. Overall this was a very engaging task.”

Student Aged 7 It was fun being an inventor and designing a machine that could count sheep for a visitor at the farm! Student age 8

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The bricks that added such a practical hands on element to it. The invent it games using the thing, that, for cards.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? An understanding of all the different things found and needed on farms.

“The kids absolutely loved this kit! It really supported our learning about how things grow. They loved the opportunity to be creative, especially designing using the thing, that and for cards. Lots of great vocabulary and sentences were developed by our tamariki. A huge thank you to School kit and Countdown for such a fabulous resource that was so engaging!”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I liked playing with the animals. I had fun making the barn with my friends.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The small bricks that made up the animals, produce were most impactful as students were able to make these independently or with their friends with out adult input.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Hours of enjoyment rebuilding and playing with the vehicles and animals during play activities at school. They are also aware of the life cycle of some of the animals and the food produce cycle.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The lego element was highly motivating as we love lego in this class and to be able to "play" with it for our learning was exciting!

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? A great legacy of lego and a love of farm play, ability to categorise objects.

“Bricks Farm was exciting and highly motivating because it involved two of our favourite things - lego and farming! We got off to a rocky start with a new student disrupting our half built sets, which were quite challenging (but not impossible) for New Entrant Students to build. We involved the year 1-2 students to help us with this. Sorting things into categories did take some thinking on occassions and it bought about lots of discussion. A fun kit but next time I would do it with slightly older students as helpers.”

“What a super kit - we used this as part of our Mentoring programme where yr 7/8 students worked alongside a Yr 1/2 buddy to build up parts of the farm. The children will get so much enjoyment from this Lego kit.”
