How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? We did a lot of oral language discussion as my students are quite young. We explored stories, videos and personal experiences to develop a better understanding of farming being more than just animals in paddocks.

We had a great time using our brick farm. It paired beautifully with some children lead interests anyway, and we were able to build on that using our school kit

Sometimes, I have challenges during my builds, like figuring out how to make a certain piece fit or finding the right balance for my design. Thank you for providing this valuable resource. In our learning space, we have students ranging from Year 0 to Year 8, and it was truly remarkable to witness the creative designs that some of our learners came up with. We introduced a small challenge to our tamariki, encouraging them to craft their own pūrākau stories, which ties into our ongoing exploration of "The Creation of Tuna" and our hands-on activities related to eel traps and habitats. Our tamariki were given the freedom to choose whether to work independently or collaborate with their peers, and they enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to share their stories and their connections to their whānau through the Seesaw platform. This not only fostered creativity but also strengthened the bonds within our learning community. We greatly appreciate the engagement and enthusiasm our students have shown in this endeavour, and we look forward to more enriching experiences in our learning journey.

What a fantastic kit. We played the game as a whole class but separated into 9 teams. The children were so engaged for over an hour trying to win their little bags of bricks. They really enjoyed the Invent it cards and this has given me inspiration for how I can make some of my own. Everytime we picked up a card we learnt the Te Reo word associated with the farm. What a brilliant idea. The children then worked in their teams to create the bigger models. It created such a buzz for my class for the end of term. The bricks farm is now set up on a table ready to be played with for the rest of the term. Just amazing thank you Countdown!
