How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? Linked with our inquiry learning paddock to table. So in terms of literacy with the Lego it just built on what we learnt visiting farms.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them They loved that they were able to use 'lego' in 'real learning' and not just free choice/golden time. Once the initial 'hype' was over, we had the countdown bricks out in our 'construction toy' area and it was often a key source of role play, as well as team work by working together to build their little creations. A class rule was that all creations would be broken down by the creators at the end of each week, so the bricks could be shared.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? THe whole kit was well thought out, there was more structure in terms of introducing the kit and working together to initially build
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Building, creating, role-play and shared enjoyment!

My Year two class LOVED this School kit. I split the kit over the last two terms and we used the actual bricks and puzzle map in term three which was great for team building as children started getting tired and scratchy. SO this was a great 'reward' and meant that they had to work and play together! We also loved using the game during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori and this was great way to strengthen our knowledge of te reo Māori kup in a fun and engaging way! My class loves lego and construction toys so it has been wonderful to incorporate the use of the kit into our day, whether in before-school play or as part of our R.A.T's or 'Reading Associated Task' work. This is related to our shared read-aloud book of the week and the tasks might involve building a setting or character from the story. We would regularly use the bricks in all curriculum area, including maths as a counting manipulative or as a measurement toy, or phonics focus sound bingo (as the counters) or building 3D masterpieces! We loved the game and have continued to play it on Friday afternoons.

Our students really enjoyed the hands on learning and describing their creations in te reo Māori. They also were more engaged in writing about our food unit and in writing and speaking te reo. Their pronunciation has noticably improved in accuracy.
