What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Only touched on some ideas using some of the cards provided. This was a platform for further discussions throughout the year about differences in relationships.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The focus on diversity and difference was a focus this year and related well to Wellbeing which was also a focus. It was good having the cards to ignite thinking in this area.
I was excited to get this kit in the mail. I did find the kit to be a bit complicated to get my head around for a start. The assortment of cards were great with some really good questions to ignite some robust discussions. Some cards were a little above my student's age level so I just left those ones. I also found that because we live in quite a mono cultured community some ideas were quite difficult for my Year 5 students to relate to. Overall I found the kit to be too sophisticated for my learners but we did make the best of it by using some of the cards to aid discussions. I think this kit is more suited to Year 7-9.

I liked this kit and it's message. It provided good, honest conversations about racism and was well-pitched to the kids. Great work.

I found this a very valuable and thought provoking unit of work to do with my year 8 students. It opened them up to deeper thinking around compliments, stereotypes, racism etc. This set us up well for other activities that come up later in the school year.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? We ran weekly class meetings to discuss how each others' actions may have impacted either negatively or positively on each other. For some students, it proved to be an eye opener for them, with respect to how others may have been viewing them. However, di
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? I think that it exposed my students to a variety of viewpoints and how to find similarities and differences between them, whether they be racially motivated or not. But more importantly, how to react in an appropriate way if we experience unwanted racism.
Thanks for the great kit you provided free. I love the fact that the planning layout is consistent with the other kits for ease of following. The resources compliment the message that racism, bias and stereotyping can be harmful and shouldn't be tolerated.

We loved this kit. We were challenged and surprised by some of our actions/attitudes and this helped us to reflect and notice them. We loved the opportunity to opportunity to explore what our culture is, learn about other cultures and find SimilarIites/difference and celebrate these.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? A greater awareness of the words 'racism' and 'stereotype'.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? More acceptance of difference and awareness that we are all different.
My class really benefited from the conversations that were enabled with this kit. They especially enjoyed the pictionary game and we had some excellent discussion about stereotypes. The learning that came from the circle activity was really fun and informative. We all learnt a lot about each other. One of the issues raised was some people put certain family members farther out on the disc than others. We talked about why that might be. I plan to do this activity with my class at the start of next year.
