What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? I’m hoping it will open their eyes to a range of cultures and understand we are all the same. They can appreciate how difficult it must be for some people coming into our country.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? During prayer time they prayed for those in other countries and recognised some people do experience racism.
Thanks so much for another amazing school kit. My children throughly enjoyed the activities and loved presenting their work on the cards provided. Some interesting thoughts came through. We were reading refugee at the same time so this helped with visualisation.

Brilliant resources that students found very engaging. Information was presented in a different way to what they're used to which they enjoyed. It also provided excellent ideas for activities / games to promote interest. The kit provoked some interesting class discussion and we were able to branch out into history etc.

This time my release teacher took the kit with the children and was linked into our inquiry. Many questions were shared along with many ways which we could solve.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Powerful discussions. Students acknowledged many stereotypes were almost family cultures.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Hopefully an increased tolerance, certainly an increased kindness!
This became quite emotional for some as we explored the people in our inner circles. It was really important for the teachers to model anything other than the nuclear family in order for students to feel it was okay for their circles to look different from another persons. Wonderful and meaningful discussions!

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? The children are more resilience, respect others and keen to learn other cultures. The children learned to be inclusive not in class but outside when they are playing games. They understand better about other cultures and work collaboratively.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? We have now a more peaceful environment, children are upstanders now and not tolerating any racism. They are confident to speak out and support other children who are vulnerable. Children happily partici[ted cultural dance, ethnic dress ups and sharing cu
Fantastic resource. As a teacher, my pedagogy has changed the way I select resources and teach. I have 9 different cultural groups in my class and getting through ";NOT IN MY BOOK"; activities made me rethink.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Rather than 'change the environment in your classroom' the kit added to what is already in place. The 'I wish my Teacher Knew' activity was particularly good in that I found out a couple of really important details about 2 students, that affected their le
I found the kit was not as useful for my students as previous kits from School-Kit. The activities like the 'draw a ..... person' were beyond my students (Y3, the bottom end of the appropriate age range). I found an activity for students to complete about themselves that started discussions. On the other side of the coin it was really beneficial for me professionally.
