What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? The complimenting worked really nicely. And was a feel good for the kids that we did more than once. They enjoyed not only giving the compliments but receiving them also.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Kids learned to include one another despite differences. And also began to work with others more than what they may have in the past. It had a strong message of working with others no matter what and kids picked up and enjoyed this.

“Loved that this integrated so nicely into our class. Kids really enjoyed looking into the diversity of other cultures. Tied in nicely with our inquiry of investigating what other countries do in their cultures.”

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? By breaking things down into smaller achievable steps, we're able to achieve our goals more easily.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Our girls became more aware of how they treated each other and became very adept at finding news articles about different forms of discrimination.

“This kit was great for opening my students eyes to the different types of discrimination in this work. They had no idea of the extent of their own unconscious bias' and it made them more aware how their thoughts and actions. Definitely worth participating in!”

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? I think it made us aware of the implicit things we do and how we can change these.

“We loved using this kit. The yr 5 and 6 were really amazed to discover how they themselves were using things like stereotypes. The activities like stereotype Pictionary, were really helpful to get discussions started. Was really great.”

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? It has created an awareness and instilled an ambition to actively work towards creating an accepting, safe and inclusive environment at home, school and wider community.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? We are more aware of each other and ourselves - our similarities, differences and prejudices. We are more willing to talk about and reflect upon how we view each other and the people around us.

“Fantastic kit that explores the way you view the world around you and how the simplest of actions or reactions can have an impact on others around you (whether it is intended or not). As a class we learnt alot about ourselves and how we view the world. It was a real 'eye-opener' of a unit that both myself and the students enjoyed.”
