What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? It has created an awareness and instilled an ambition to actively work towards creating an accepting, safe and inclusive environment at home, school and wider community.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? We are more aware of each other and ourselves - our similarities, differences and prejudices. We are more willing to talk about and reflect upon how we view each other and the people around us.
Fantastic kit that explores the way you view the world around you and how the simplest of actions or reactions can have an impact on others around you (whether it is intended or not). As a class we learnt alot about ourselves and how we view the world. It was a real 'eye-opener' of a unit that both myself and the students enjoyed.

We absolutely loved the kit and it blended so powerfully with our inquiry about navigating the journey. Lots of rich discussions were had and stereotypes was a brilliant avenue to learn about. Compliments were also rich in the way they were delivered and received.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? The action plan created much debate and discussion, and as I've mentioned already, went nicely hand in hand with other topics we were learning about this term.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Students became more aware of stereotypes which are out there, and were challenged by some of them. Creating their own poems based on stereotypes made us all look a little bit differently (in a good way) at each other. The class compliment poem was a love
My class enjoyed the Not Part of My World kit, and much debate and discussion was created from it. As well as doing some of the activities in the kit the students created their own ";Just Because"; poems, based on stereo types. This kit worked in well with Hauora and Sexuality Road topics which we also were covering this term.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Students feel more comfortable within their own skin and what they do in their life. We will continue incorporating this kit into our class and how we need to compliment each other more on what we are good at.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Children are more aware of not calling each other names due to what they like doing, what they look like and if they wear glasses.
The students all gained a lot out of this kit through discussions and looking at sterotyping without realising that we all do it. They loved writing Just Because I am poems and sharing these with the whole school.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? As my classroom has a mainly pakeha appearance the students found that their stereo types often came out of what they hear at home and think is acceptable. Changing that perception may take longer than I initially thought and require the students to think
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Students realised they share many similarities. They also realised that some of their stereo types are driven by what they hear others saying and that it is going to require them taking a stand on stereo typing and racisim before we change how other peopl
The Not Part of My World school kit shone a light on the stereotyping that exists in the world that my students were unaware of. Completing some of the tasks made the students understand that while many of us are hugely different we sometimes share some of the same things that we didn't realise we had in common.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? I hope to implement this in either term 4 or term 1 next year.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? I hope it will create conversations in our classroom and look at how we see others
Sorry this term we were just too crazy with Tuia25o and this school kit was the only one I didn't get to. We are currently doing the SVA kit and the As I saw it kit which will culminate in us attending the Powhiri at Wharekaho where the story took place.

How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Has brought up important topics for discussion in our learning environment.
