What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? It has made my students more aware of what comments they make when referring to people. Still lots of learning needed though.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? It has made the students more aware - I feel there is more learning to do though
This Kit was outstanding and the students all enjoyed this. It was very confronting at times, but was great for making connections and conversations. I still think there is a bot of learning to do with this with the students I teach.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? The action plan has become a basis for students' inquiry into our class topic next term.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? They have become more understanding and empathetic to each other. A lot have become much more open to making mistakes and who they are. They are more likely to confide in each other rather than store up their problems in their heads. They share their lear
This kit have been such a fun, relatable and accurate way of intertwining Literacy with Inquiry Studies. It related to a lot of the national issues that NZ faced this year. Students found it especially interesting and as a teacher, I got to learn new things about my students too.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? It was interesting to know what minimal knowledge the learners had, some didn't even know their own parents names. We came up with challenges to learn more about our family and peers in a respectful manner.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The learners are taking the time to learn their peers names (and cultural names as some have preferred to be called by their 'English' name). We are all practicing to properly pronounce their names correctly.
As I work in an FLE I use this resource with two different groups. It was very interesting to see their views of others and themselves. This gave me an opportunity to learn more about my learners on a personal level, as some things that had risen couldn't have been discussed in a typical daily conversation. The activity that the kids were engaged with was placing the names of those closest to them on their target. Everyone had a different response and it bloomed some interesting conversations in our lesson.

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? Students refer to the action plan if/when someone says/does something. Students often self-correct when speaking/retelling stories.
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? This kit made students more aware of stereotypes and what influences them when making judgements about others.
Another fantastic kit from School Kit! I wasn't sure it would suit my fairly mono-cultural class but to be honest, it was perfect!

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? We are going to continue to work hard on those things we need to improve on during Term 4, so that when we reflect on our learning and environment, and while we work through PB4L, we can make the adjustments necessary and work on continuing to accept thos
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? My class, after reading and discussing the Action Plan cards have decided we must be quite lucky as we don't have some of the issues discussed. We did talk about those students who do move away from our rural community and how hard it could be to adjust.
Well done Schoolkit! Another awesome resource for our students. We were really struggling as a class, with end of Term-itis and being tired after a Term long preparation for Production, that students were forgetting how to be kind to others and to accept differences of others. This was so timely! We continued on to writing ";compliment"; sheets for each student. They put their names on the top of a blank piece of paper and handed them around the class and wrote things they've noticed about their peers. It was a great way to stop and think about how each child brings something different to the table. The favourite activity was the pictionary game. I have not laughed so much in ages. My class teamed up in groups of 4 and every one got a chance to be the ";runner"; to tell me what the picture was - we got a little too competitive and kept scores - but it was enjoyed by all! Students did struggle with a couple of the cards because we are a small, rural school and we are not as ethnically diverse as others, but it did open up discussions around the classroom. Thanks again for a fantastic kit! I am keeping the little cards with ";What my teacher needs to know about me"; because some of these were really interesting and filled out with a lot of thought, and even after 3 terms, I did not know these things! This would be a great activity to do in Term 1! Nga mihi

What impact has the introduction of the action plan had on your classroom? I feel that some of the statements used were hard for the students to understand at first. But paid attention to the part about everyone should be listened to and heard
How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? It has mad the student aware of many things and focus on what is a sterotype is and how to encourage understanding of each others culture.
It has been quite a tricky and delicate situation as I have a boy in my class who has lost a family member in the Mosque shootings.
