How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? The children were more open with each other, they were happy to share their feelings and concerns. It has made our classroom a very inclusive place were it is OK, in fact cool to be different.

“This kit was insightful and my students enjoyed it immensly! Loads of interesting discussions around first impressions and gender stereotypes. My students gained deeper understanding of each others cultures, building on their prior knowledge and what they had recently learned about each others cultures. Pictionary was slightly adpted to suit the students, The Class Poem and ‘what I wish my teacher knew’ were all great. I will definately be using aspects of this kit again with my new students in 2020. Thank you School Kit for providing so many interesting kits!”

There were lots of moments where the students found something funny, and the silence and thought that was provoked when they were challenged in their thinking was an amazing learning opportunity. The students matured through the lessons and some of them learned a little bit more about themselves.”

As we learned more about each other, we learned to accept and embrace difference as a positive aspect of our class and the wider world. How did using this kit change the environment in your classroom? Awareness in the school environment around cultural differences, prejudices and discussions can change not only the way students think but how they respond when they see this happening and demand acceptance and change.
