“Great that you are doing something and providing these resources. We found it hard to integrate into our Te Ao Maori (Tikanga and Reo Māori) course as we had already covered some of the activities in various ways but we will try using them in term 4 to aid the process of reflection.”

In what ways did this kit empower your students to challenge racism? The best thing was the global & NZ based Challenging... posters (sinophobia, white supremacy etc). We got our students to research one of these in depth, which they were also able to use for their English speech.

In what ways did the Teacher Journal challenge you? It didn't actually challenge me much because I had already answered a lot of the questions for myself. But I think it would be excellent for someone starting to think about racism and their personal biases.

“This is a beautifully packaged kit, very stylish. The journal for teachers would be nicely provocative for someone who is starting to explore their own racial biases. Some of the resources for students were useful but I think others might actually reinforce stereotypes rather than dispel them.”

This was a great question and helped us investigate our own upbringings and eachothers storie

In a 'safe' classroom situation all can go well however, in a less familiar, more problematic environment kids may struggle. Material id certainly useful...
