How effective was the use of social Media for Fighting Social Injustice As stated above, several of my students chose not to interact in this way but to run campaigns in the school to raise awareness.

In what ways did the Teacher Journal challenge you? I did not use the journal in its entirety but it did help me to understand the view point of others both teaching colleagues and students.

“I found the kit well structured, well planned and easy to follow from one step to the next. I also found that I was able to modify the kit to my needs. E.g., I have modified the Social Media Campaign to include Community Action Campaigns that do not require students to interact in a virtual environment but within their actual communities. They will be running campaigns against stereotypes, and unconscious bias, while also allowing students to bring their culture and who they are into the classroom. We will start with an awareness campaign in the school and then move it to the community.”

In what ways did the Teacher Journal challenge you? It allowed me to tackle challenging ideas such as white prejudice in a structured and safe way.

“When talking about such emotive issues in social studies it can be a fine line between building understanding, challenging our own prejudices or lack of knowledge and crowd control. These resources provided learning contexts that could be used and adjusted according to the students in my class and led to some insightful, inquisitive and respectful class discussion.”

How effective was the use of social Media for Fighting Social Injustice Ok, I'm not a frequent user of instagram so have probably not used this as much as I could.

In what ways did the Teacher Journal challenge you? It was a good reflective tool and allowed me to reflect in action for action. I received the resources purposely as I am currently teaching human rights to my tauira.
