“We are teaching this in Term 3 but so far for our planning the kit has been fantastic. We are trialling this in a co teaching environment so will let you know how that goes after.”
“Whilst I understand the intent of this kit, as a department at my school we reviewed the teaching and learning and decided not to teach components of this due to the content that it contained. Asking students to draw a stereotype at this level only further adds to the systemic racism that prevails in our society....I understand that that is the point, but I don't feel that students have that level of understanding at this level. Perhaps in L2 and L3 Media Studies this activity would work when considering representation. The posters were helpful to develop student understanding and create discussion. These will be something that I continue to use. Thank you.”
