“Thank you for this kit. Room 9 had the charging station on at our Health and Wellbeing wall. Students have been discussing the cards every week as i introduce 4 new cards each week. This gave them the correct amount of time to actually put some of the ideas into practice and not just skipping over the cards. It has been a great resource and my team hava also incoroprated some of these ideas in their teaching.”

“When the kit arrived we were very excited as a class to unpack it and get it set up. Resilience is one of our learner attributes so it fitted perfectly into introducing it with my new Year 7 students. We had only started off small and had begun to use the Charging Station and Check in box.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The daily check in has been great. Esp for the beginning of the year when chn didn't know me as well and possibly weren't as confident about coming to talk to me about how they were feeling/

“Was a great beginning of the year Kit and although we didn't get it finished the chn loved the acitivites they did (probably the first half of so of the unit). The token and ranking yourself for children was great - it quickly became a valuable part of our classroom routine at the beginning of the day and was good for me to get a snap shot of how chn were feeling and gave me a chance to chat to chn who were feeling a bit "wobbly"before it became an issue with behaviour. I'll keep this part of it going when we finally get back to school. Thanks!”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? It's been helpful for them to be aware of their emotions and to know that it's ok to have different feelings as everyone goes through them, they're just expressed in different ways.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We've always had pretty good communication in our hub but it has made it easier for those students who don't like to talk about how they are feeling.

“THIS KIT WAS GREAT FOR HIGHLIGHTING TO STUDENTS THAT WE ALL GO THROUGH DIFFERENT FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS BUT THAT SOMETIMES WE RESPOND TO THOSE EMOTIONS IN DIFFERENT WAYS. BEING IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN IS STRESSFUL AD BEING AWARE OF HOW WE'RE FEELING AND DIFFERENT COPING MECHANISMS HAS BEEN SO HELPFUL AND ITS A GREAT WAY FOR TEACHERS TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THEIR STUDENTS BOTH FACE TO FACE AND THROUGH DISTANCE LEARNING.”

“We have enjoyed the kit so far but not finished the mahi. Working alongside our social skills lessons. The charging station was/is particularly popular. When we finally get back to school I look forward to supporting the students who will no doubt have a big need for as many resources as possible, and this is when this kit will come into its own. How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The kit prompted us to break down the words 'resilience' and 'self-confidence'. We discussed what they actually meant and what they looked like. This enabled children to then reflect on their own behaviours.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We used the journal to great effect. The children loved it. The children were so excited to see and learn about the charging station, but sadly we never actually got to use it. We will hopefully keep it up when we return and put it to use.

“This kit had the potential to be an excellent kit for Term 1. Time after time we find ourselves saying, 'he/she needs to build resilience', and, 'we will help to develop their resilience this year'. This kit seemed to provide us with the tools to support us with putting our words into action.”
