How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Posters were great as we referee back to them throughout the day. A good visual for students to see where they made need to charge or help them identify ways to self regulate,

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Tokens were a great way for children to feel heard without them needing to say anything. Then if I felt the need I could go a check in with that student sometime in the day.

“The children really connected well to the battery and text message analogy. Examples on cards were relevant for this age group and relatable. They loved the charging station mat too.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The little booklets were part of our linking with our kaumatua and kuia, in recognition of their own achievements and how do we incorporate these into the individuals during their exploration of knowing who they are. Talking frankly to their whanau.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Being able to approach with simple communications skills between tamariki and teachers were very positive.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Daily check in, kids loved it. Charging Station, kids loved it. The kit encouraged and facilitated my class to communicate positively and also for children to have to tools to notice when others weren't quite so happy.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I am yet to use the kit in its entirety, I do like the way in which encourages school and whānau connections.

“Unfortunately due to lockdown this kit didn't take off the way I was hoping. It looks so great though and my students were very excited to start their journals. I'm looking forward to using the contents next year and taking aspects of the journal writing into our well-being focus at school.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I have enjoyed the individual booklets and the visual displays to clearly shoe the different levels the students can be experiencing.

“This kit has been great for my intermediate levelled kids. It was a nice visual way to display our class conversations and allowed us to introduce wellbeing in a new way for the kids. My kids loved adding to their own journal and using the different tools to help them problem solve.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? We have weekly sessions (circle time) which gives all children the opportunity to speak about any problems they may have. I have noticed more and more children are contributing to discussions as we've progressed through the kit.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? My children are really trusting of me especially when they see that I keep their information to myself. I leave it upto the children to express themselves when they are ready.

“This kit was a fantastic way to teach the children how to regulate their emotions, understand the emotions of others, and talk about their feelings. My students have come along way with regulating their emotions, they have gone from just lashing out with swearing and hitting, to now being more open to discuss their problems with others.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The check in tokens were wonderful, the most helpful piece in our classroom as it meant open discussions could be had when a student had readied themselves for a chat

Helped A.... to tell her friends that when they tell her who to play with that she can say no today I am....this was wonderful to see Helped alot of others to see that one disagreement did not mean the end of their friendship.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Daily check in was great to establish chat between the tamariki and I about their day. Loved reading the letters from their parents-kids loved reading them too.
