How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The check in token and the letters allowed students a starting point for more tricky conversations
“The children enjoyed the kit and it allowed them some space to talk about feelings. It worked well in tandem with the 'keep ourselves safe' programme.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Clear and concise language in student speak for the resources. Bright and engaging and very user friendly.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Students were able to choose any time they needed for 1-1 conversations or discuss with their peers first if uncomfortable. This was rare though.
“This kit ticked the boxes for the students in my class and came at the right time. Easy, understandable and very used friendly the kit was great and allowed students to converse easily about the aims and raide awareness of self confidence due largely to the fabulous colourful and trendy resources supplied. Well done Team!”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? This kit tied in beautifully with our seuality education learning this term. This kit supported the self esteem issues that is in their everyday lives.
“A really well thought out kit with relevant mental health and haoura links for my intermediate class. This kit gave the tamariki opportunities to work on self reflection, resilience and discuss moments that could support their ever evolving knowledge of themselves.”

I felt the appearance ideals component really helped my students to understand that these are placed upon us by society and how we really need to be aware of this in our lives. The self respect token also led to interesting discussion around others
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I already teach a lot on self talk and care. It opened up a little discussion on these areas. Peer problems seem to be prevalent at the moment and I wonder if this could be incorporated into the kit somehow as a lot of the self esteem issues
“I really loved this kit and found it so helpful for my Y5/6 class. It was difficult to maintain flow due to lockdown but I was able to post videos and some tasks via online learning. I loved the cards students selected but noticed the red cards were never chosen although I know some kids were struggling with big issues. The appearance ideals section led to incredible discussion in my class and is referred to regularly”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The students loved using the charging station envelopes when they came to my class. Working through the booklet was also eyeopening for myself as the teacher and for students to realise where their strengths are.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I have tried a variety of ways to 'check in' with my students, but the charging station provided in the kit made this simple. We will continue to do this into next term as well, as we were interrupted by the lockdowns.
“We loved using this in conjunction with our ";Health / Hauora"; unit. The charging stations were a great way to check in with students each day as well as added to our classroom display. The booklets were engaging and the students loved having something new to work with.”

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Definitely and supported the teacher to teacher transition across the week. We are continuing to utilise the kit coming back into school after lockdown maintaining the focus on wellbeing.
