How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Yes I think so, although with it being a crazy end of term four we probably didnt put in a huge amount of time with it. They enjoyed the cards and booklets.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? It was great especially with the red paper as it allowed them to write about how they were feeling etc instead of having that initial conversation. Was easier for them to open up about things.
Awesome resource to teach kids about themselves, their emotions and the support they have around them. They got better at filling out the booklet and using the wall display. Found it a bit of getting used to as we have done a lot around Zones of Regulation so kids weren't used to the colours for the wall display but still enjoyed the concept of it.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? Self awareness and talking about it being ok to experience the emotions you feel. Sharing normality is the diversity of emotions.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? We have always been open but this has taken normalising these conversations to the next level.
Our use of the kit was hindered by Level 3 lockdown for most of Term 4 which was a real shame. However it was a perfect tool to return with as it helped our students focus on their whare tapa wha and get in tune with themselves. Because of the late start we are still working through it and will continue to next year as I can see the benefit to students.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? They have yo che Kim with how they are feeling and we can follow up and support. Cards are great yo prompt discussion.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Yes. We get to monitor how they are feeling and then discuss with them.
This kit is amazing. The students love the cards and the self check ins and it really supports conversations around wellness. Students are definitely looking out for each other more and showing more care, empathy and self awareness through the activities. The kits resources are great and so easy to use. Highly recommended!

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The exploring what makes you special books were great in getting the students to think about adults who influence them and which values they pass on. It started an interesting discussion about values and how adults influence/impact our lives as we grow up
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? My students are probably on the older side for using the charging station - I think it would be very effective with a younger group. We set it up slightly differently - more open discussion around the cards (boosting and shrinking). It was great!
I have a Year 8 class and they really enjoyed the discussions we had based on the shrink and boost cards. Some really useful suggestions! Great discussions around building resilience. I asked the students for feedback on the kit and they said they really enjoyed it. The resources/display were bright and colourful, easy to follow and had lots of good tips/suggestions.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? I think the videos were great for showing students that they're not alone in having self doubts. The check-in cards system also taught them that having a bad day is completely normal.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? The completely confidential token system was really effective in my class. Through the system I had many students tell me that they weren't feeling great, and why, but also that they didn't need anything from me, they just wanted to let me know.
I really loved this kit. It fitted perfectly with a lot of wellbeing concepts I'd taught throughout the year and gave me a new and really easy way of checking in with the students throughout this last term. The lessons around body image fitted in perfectly with the sexuality education unit I was teaching alongside this.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? This resource really helped with tamariki self confidence as they felt empowered and equiped with the tools needed to manage themselves in challenging circumstances.
How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? There were tamariki who would often internalise their emotions and weren't as expressive as other tamariki so the wall actually helped me to engage more with these tamariki.
He rawe tēnei rauemi, hei akiaki i ngā tamariki, kia whakatau te tamaiti i a ia anō, kia tū māia te tamaiti i ngā wā katoa. He pai hoki, nā te mea he rauemi reorua tēnei. Ngā mihi. This is a great resource that builds student capabilities with regards to self management and confidence. A great bilingual resource.

How have the components of the kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Students didn’t get super involved in the tokens unfortunately but seem comfortable sharing with me.
The students enjoyed working their way through the booklet through the weeks we worked on this. They were more engaged in some tasks more than others. Taking the books home for parents to add to and work through was interesting and they enjoyed sharing these responses.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your student self-confidence? The booklets allowed students to think about their emotions and reflect on themselves on a deeper level. It challenged their thinking and highlighted the importance being able to understand our mind and body in order to be our best selves.

A great way to introduce students to expressing their emotions and helping teachers provide support. It took a while to teach students to use the charging cards but it was wonderful to see ";fully charged"; st
Dove self care Continued from first paragraph* Students in my class have all developed their confidence within themselves and in front of others. Second paragraph *students supporting those who weren't. It created an open, honest and supportive class culture. Modelling these tools were a great way for students to see that staff also feel the same emotions, I found it helped them show more empathy to adults as well as their peers.
