“Great resource, worked well with my students. Learners were engaged and had a better understanding of what self esteem is, as well as the importance of their self confidence.”
“Fantastic resource that created lots of discussion in the class. Relationships have been developed and built. Children are beginning to feel a little more resilient.”
“Mindset and self-esteem are two concepts that are very much present in our team. The prompt cards were excellent as they provided our learners with some great discussion and thought-provoking ideas.
Thank you!”
“The students shared openly about the charging stations during their parent learning conversations.
All students have been actively engaged in the process and can articulate why it is important.”
“Students were quite engaged, and it really made them think critically about how they talk about themselves as well as others. I think it made them more aware of issues that people have today in relation to body and confidence issues, as well as how they tackle problems - do they just give up at the drop of a hat, or do they try to push through it and finish the job.”
“The material was highly engaging. Students learnt alot about self-esteem. They were able to identify adults that they trust. The notebook was a great resource too. I liked how they were able to get their whanau involved. Look forward to doing this again with my next year class. Great job team!”
“I am currently a principal's release teacher to 17 Year 5-8 students. The Self-confidence school kit was introduced a few weeks before we set it up, by way of a bar of Dove soap on each students' desk. This generated lively conversation amongst the children, including one parent who had hoped we would be teaching their son how to clean his feet! Once the resources were set up, there was definitely a ";wow"; vibe going on in the classroom! Each morning the students placed their tokens in the check-in box. At midday we checked in again and it was heartening seeing the students lining up to chose a yellow card for an extra boost for their own resilience, focusing on independent journaling, and in particular opting for a green card to enable doing something positive and thoughtful for another person. The programme was a great success for all of us. A highlight was the quality of parental feedback on the individual love letters. Many of the children re-read these every day. Some cry. Most smile. All are quiet, as they absorb and linger on those beautiful words from their parents. An outstanding kit. Thank you. I am looking forward to re-visiting this programme at my new school.”
