How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I really liked the anonymous check-in box where students who are normally reluctant to seek support from the teacher felt like they had a safe space to communicate with me that they were feeling low or wanted to check in.

How has this kit impacted your class community during covid times? I can't really measure this... we are dealing with a whole new layer of anxiety, social pressure and online behaviours that I believe are an outcome of the past 2 years... Any work we can do around this area is a must

“I was unable to use the kit directly as originally planned due to unforeseen circumstances. However, members of my team used it in conjunction with their sexuality programme. Reports back said that it provided them with awesome discussion points and contexts that the girls could relate to. The kit was also shared at a parent evening to encourage/ support parents to re-inforce these themes. We definitely hope to use it again! Apologies for having to pass it on but please know that it has had an awesome impact and supported teacher upskilling also. The meter will be a permanent feature in our share teaching space.”

How has this kit impacted your class community during covid times? I think rates of anxiety have been higher than pre Covid and so this kit has helped to open my students’ minds to understanding the feelings they have felt and learn some ways of coping with them.

How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I’ve learned to have more empathy for my students who are consistently putting their tokens in the red area and I’ve taken a greater interest in building relationships with them.

“I was excited to receive this kit to support my class inquiry into Hauora. The resources are bright and look awesome displayed in the classroom. The videos are thought-provoking and the letters were well-received. It didn't quite have as much to it as other kits but it provided an added depth to our unit. The website it informative and there is opportunity to go deeper into this topic.”
