How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Fabulous. We have had a student teacher in our class for term 3 which she was able to take the lead with the kit. This enabled her to build a trusted relationship with the diverse range of learners in our class.

“Nice how everything I needed to implement this unit was in the box. The lessons were very clear and easy to follow. The tamariki enjoyed reading the letter they received from a member of their whānau, this was a powerful confidence booster. It was great to have whānau input too. Our tamariki liked working through the booklets to reinforce and illustrate learning. It was a bit tricky finding wall space for envelopes . As I have Year 3 and 4's some of the lesson's had to be adapted to ensure these young learners go the best out of the unit. This has been a great unit to follow on to from our work with the Life Education Kaiako at the beginning of this term.”

“It did take us a while to get this kit satrted as covid spread through the school. It was a great way for the kids to settle back into class and discuss and share their feelings. They really enjoyed the self check station and how it was only seen by me. A trusted adult filled these letters out, with some even adding photos! Students keep these letters in their desks and are able to look back at them at any point throughout
