How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Some kids communicated more than they used to, however these were also the ones that got stuck only looking at the negatives.

How has this kit helped develop your student's self confidence? I think my kids became more confident in choosing things that they were wanting to do rather than going with the flow.

“This really started the kids off with a hiss and a roar but it was challenging to sustain longer than the first 2/3 weeks. I love the concept and the kids loved it but could do with a system where you release things as time goes on to maintain enthusiasm around it.”

How has this kit impacted your class community during covid times? Students still struggling with emotions and social interactions gave them all a feeling like they were in this together and to be able to notice patterns in their feelings and how they might turn it around.

How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? Some students struggled to comprehend what a red zone was like until we had really got going, but once they understood this was helpful to see kids who might not have noticed who had these feelings on a regular basis.

How has this kit helped develop your student's self confidence? The video links and the booklet were really great. In particular, the letter from a caring adult was super powerful. The discussions around our circle of influence and values were really interesting.

How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? I really loved the section: '3 words that my teacher would use to describe me'. It's interesting to compare their own self-talk with what I would say. Our kids are far too tough of themselves! This section led to some really lovely 1:1 time with the kids.

How has this kit impacted your class community during covid times? I haven’t used the kit over Covid. With heightened feelings during this pandemic, it would be extremely useful.

How has this kit helped develop Student-Teacher communication? This was a great way for me to see at a glance how students were feeling in the morning and after lunch. The kids new that if they put their token in red that I would touch base with them at the start of lunchtime. Some kids who needed more TLC loved this

“This kit has been one of the best ones I’ve used yet! This kit was perfect for me as I was taking over from another teacher at the start of term 2. This gave each child the opportunity to think about how they were feeling and discreetly put their token in. The kids knew that if they put it in the red zone that it meant they needed help and I would touch base with them at lunchtime. The Dove kit was a good way for me to gage how each child was feeling until they got to know me and felt comfortable sharing. I loved the lessons and booklet that came with the kit, as it was a good way to think about themselves and the zones. I tied this in with the Zones of Regulation. It made the kids more aware of their feelings, what it looked like and felt, and gave them strategies of what they could do to get back into green zone. I will continue to use this kit with my new class next year :)”
