Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The taking charge station. Allowing the students to take time to recharge their mind and body when they are not feeling 100%

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? It is okay feel a bit off. It is how we respond to those feelings is important.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them The children are aware of each other and emotions that their peers are going through at different times. Individual children will come to me if upset or worried - other children will come to me and tell me if a peer needs to talk to me because they are in teh red zone

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Currently we have only used the daily check in system

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I am hoping that all children realise that all teachers are there for them not just their own class teacher. Our classrooms are open to them all and that as adults we are there to educate them not just their minds but ensure that their well being is taken care of as well

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? It has seen the seniors interacting more with the juniors in the morning as they come into our class to check in

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? A more open and fun atmosphere as communication develops and not afraid to talk about emotions when asked

“This kit is amazing and has so many layers to it. As the junior teacher in a rural school with a large percentage of ESOL children I have used it to build better relationships with the children in the senior room. One pre dominant culture at our school is very shy and reserved so to get them to open up and communicate about their feelings and self worth I have had to first develop a strong sense of trust with them all. The daily check in tokens have been great for this. The children have to come into my classroom to do this and it has allowed for natural conversations to start with children that I do not alredy have a repore with. As a very small school it is important for children to be able to have more than their class teacher to turn to. As a this has taken a whole term to establish these relationships and comunications the rest of the kit will be ongoing”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them LD- The flowchart on the back of the back of the book is helpful because it reminds me of things I can do to make myself feel better. I loved reading my letter and I learnt that sometimes my strengths can be weaknesses too. KB - I have learnted what I need to do if I don't feel great. The box is great because you don't have to tell the teacher how you feel but she still knows.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The check in box is extremely valuable. Chn. are more likely to share how they really feel compared to when you ask them in the morning. Watching the children read their letters was really lovely, many were keen to share snippets with me.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Being able to articulate more clearly how they feel and recognise some body signals. Being able to implement some strategies to help themselves feel better.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Sometimes I realise that I go from zero (calm) to 100 (angry) and there is no inbetween. I don't always know what I need. This helps me to talk about some of my tricky feelings.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Hopefully self-reflection and self-regulation skills and a bit of a confidence boost.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence As mentioned above, I think it was more of a great self-reflection tool as opposed to a confidence builder but it's still great.

“Ultimately we used this kit in conjunction with the Mitey program. We looked a lot at reflecting on our feelings and what we need/who we can go to when we need to "recharge?" In particular I really liked the 'What do you need to recharge?' sheets when students ticked off what they needed. The thought/question cards were also great and I look forward to continuing to use these. Overall I'm not sure it built confidence but it was a great tool for reflection and identifying needs and struggles.”

“Honestly I thought the ideas in the kit sounded good but they were just too complicated to work through as a time poor teacher trying to navigate all the research prior to setting up the activities. A more concise unit plan with definitive steps/activities would be more helpful.”
