“This kit has been fantastic for Year 7 class. Many of my studnets find it difficult to articulate their feelings and emotions and this has allowed them to check in and think about how they are feeling nad why as well as give ideas to help improve other confidence and emotional regulation.”

“The kit was a great way to start the year, the student's favourite thing was the tokens that they could select how they were feeling. Being able to do this without putting it out in public gave them confidence in sharing how they felt.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Sometimes I would find that a few students would avoid putting their token in the box as they maybe didn't feel comfortable to share or have others see. I also noticed some students would quickly put tokens in to get the job done but wouldn't read any of the cards so I don't think they gained as much as they could.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The daily cards that the students took out of the pockets had some really valuable advice on them. Some were not as relevant for my learners as others.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I don't think it will leave so much of a legacy but it did build some skills in self reflection.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence I noticed my students were confident to share how they were feeling and weren't afraid to say if they weren't feeling good.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? It built a culture in my space where students were checking in with their feelings and why they were feeling this way. Then thinking about what they could do to feel better.

“The resource the kit came with were really cool but I found it hard to work the check ins in to our routine. The students would all do the tokens at once which ended up being quite a disruptive way to start the day. I would have liked more resources to go with the kit about identity and self confidence. I do think that there is valuable advice in the kit. I might use the cards in a different way in future.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them The charging station opened up important dialogue between students and myself. Acknowledging and sharing their feelings and where they're at developed relationships, understandings and supported their learning.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The charging station and the caring adults letter. The caring adults letter is always such a special moment when students can read in silence heartfelt messages about them and their worth.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? A feeling of worth, importance, belonging and love.
