Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The booklets were explained well and by having kids fill in the blanks, it made them focus on their own lives.

“I used the kit for the first time this year. I heard about it from a teaching colleague who had been using it for most of this year. As I heard about it late in the year, I was only able to use it over 4 weeks. I would recommend that it be used over a term period of 10 weeks next time. I enjoyed the booklets. The concepts were explained well, very specific, and broken down into small bites for kids. The background teacher information was thorough and appropriate. I would have liked to see more video clips that cover more of the concepts for kids to watch - (kind of the kids' version of the videos that are for the teachers).”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? I think the professional look of the kit and especially the cards looking so professional encouraged tamariki to use them. The boost cards were the most impactful as it made the focus a positive focus and building self esteem of both the person taking action and the recipient of

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Pay it forward building and protecting other peoples self esteem actually builds our own and we can actively do this!

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? A very positive and ongoing for next year as well it is not going to be just a one off we used the kit and now we are done it is going to be up on our walls and used year round!

“We have really enjoyed using this kit during term 4. It has been especially helpful in students, as they have been able to self-refer to use both the "pay it" forward boost cards and the "I can deal with this myself" with ideas from the yellow envelopes! We have used this kit in conjunction with Zones of Regulation and found that this has worked especially well. The display generated lots of korero as soon as we put it up and students were reading the cards and curious from the get-go! Such a professional kit”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Writing letters to our special person. Students really enjoyed the process of thinking why these people are special to them and took pride in their letters.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? To not be afraid of those big feelings and that there are manageable ways to express them
