Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them 1. I mostIy feel great and confident, my battery is usually charged up. I can help others and boost them up. 2. Iabout know when I need to recharge. I know I need quiet time alone to calm down. I can control my feelings when I calm down.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The booklets were great self reflection tools - the questions prompted great discussion and were a valuable tool for me. I have delivered similar units in the past, but having many of the concepts and key questions already recorded was helpful - the condensed nature of the booklet was ideal for my students.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Greater self awareness and awareness of others. Increased empathy.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Self Charging station because it gave the students some solutions and ideas to solve their problems and they could do this privately without sharing information they were hesitant in sharing with others.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? An ability to be self-aware, regulate their emotions, and be mindful of how they manage themselves.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence It has given them permission to know its ok to have good and not so good days and that's there is always a reason to why these emotions happen. They also now have some tools to deals with everyday feelings and some problems.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Student 1 - I like it, i didn't use the power cards that much. Student 2 - I liked the letter that I got from my teacher. It was nice hearing the nice things that she liked about me.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The video links were helpful and the booklets supported the students to see understand their mindset.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? It will help support the students to understand that they are allowed to feel low and that we can see when people are not happy all the time. It is ok to feel netural.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? My students are quite reserved when it comes to their thoughts and feelings. They were not overly confident and found it tricky to get into this kit.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? I think this kit made a positive impact on my students. We had a similar external person come in and talk about te whare tapa whā and it linked them together really nicely.

“This was a great unit and worked well with the classroom setting. I found that my kids were not overly excited about talking or expressing their feelings. THey liked the workbooks and the letters that they recieved.”

“The resources were lovely and the tamariki enjoyed working with them. The booklet was especially helpful as the tamariki could refer back to it. We also developed a common language in the classroom and this helped with developing understanding of ourselves and others.”

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Realise that we are all going through a struggle. My struggle might look different from yours but you're not alone.

“This was a helpful and timely resource. There was a lot going on in our school already. Finding time to start the kit was challenging but it worked out in the end. Many underlying issues arose from the activities. Friendship issues, body shaming, moving onto Intermediate, fitting in....all these issues and a lot more is what our students are going through. The Self Confidence Kit has helped to address some of these issues and provide strategies for children to use.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The quilt meant that they focused on positive things and looking ahead, which made them also think about how far they had come and what is good about life now.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I think it really helped them become emotionally aware without being self-absorbed in the negative spaces some were operating in.

I think it has helped them see that lots of people can feel like they are not confident, and they are not alone, and see what strategies and activities can help them when that kind of feeling starts to overwhelm, and they can see what they 'can' do as opposed to what they feel they can't.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? The students enjoyed the journey and are more aware of things they can do to help themselves and others.

“My class had to do this with my reliever as I had an accident. At the time they started doing the kit, there were some issues arising with a few kids who were very focused on themselves in a negative way. As they have progressed, there has been a shift in the way they are approaching things and the whole vibe is a lot more positive. They have focused on themselves but with a much more positive spin. It has been great to see them start to respond with gratitude too. The quilt 'pieces' were very insightful and helpful for me and my reliever. Thank you for such a great kit.”
