Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I really liked working through the booklet and being able to write things down. It was nice that we didn't always have to share what we wrote - it was more for us and a safe place. (student 1). It was cool doing the circle of influence activity at home. Dad also enjoyed working on it with me. (student 2).

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I never really thought about helping others boost their confidence when I was in a good space, but this has taught me how to do this in a way I can actually do it" "I never really thought my dad thought I'd be anything, like he never really seemed to talk me up or anything so I assumed he just thought I'd fail or do nothing. But now I know he's actually low key backing me to be whatever I want."
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Daily check in with the charge station. I know my kids pretty well, but it's always the quiet one's that are hard to pick up on their mental state. The charge station helped with this big time!!
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That the people they love truly do support them through everything - even on the days where they make mistakes. Also, the things people remember about us as we grow aren't the ways in which we looked cool, or bought the latest things, but how we treated each other.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Strategies to help boost confidence, highlighted the values they have, got them to look at how confidence isn't all about appearance

I used the DOVE Self Confidence with my year 8s in term 4. It worked alongside our Navigating the Journey lessons perfectly. Students got to read their letters from home at what felt like the most appropriate time of the term when things were getting a bit low for them and the daunting realisation of High School hit them. It was so amazing to see their faces light up and a few tears shed. Students were given practical ways in which to boost themselves up as well as strategies to help those around them. They were done in subtle ways but had a big impact. Getting them to connect with the people they loved was important too - and identifying the qualities within those people that they value themselves bought them closer to that person. Overall, a fantastic unit that I can re-create next year!!

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them The letters - students were eager to return the love - back to the people who had sent them. The other comments that the children identified is that while working in maths (Currently learning through DMIC), children we helping each other to keep persisting in tasks - and although children joked with each other about the need to 'recharge' different children did go to the wall and read peers a card - and discussed it. This was all student led.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The letters offered the children the most impact. In our kura, each student had the letter completed by a teacher that they had previously had - possibly from 5 years prior. The children read the letters and many teachers had include little videos and photos from the early years for each student. This was done because I could not guarantee in our kura, that each child would get a letter back from family - so the teacher idea was highly effective and connected well with the circle of influence. We had students who cried and many wanted to share their letters with their peers afterwards. I have a video of children reading their letters - but wish I'd taken one afterwards when the children were sharing as there was a real buzz and excitement in the air. Many children wanted a letter template so they could write back to their teacher. In one photo you will notice a child laying on his back after reading letter. He got very emotional.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That they are loved and that all people make mistakes, but it is through our mistakes, that we need people to walk beside us through these events. We discussed about people having our backs but it was being by our side that is the best support for our mistakes - as we can keep trying again knowing someone is also beside us to help and guide.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence They have started to see each other for the strengths that they bring to a situation - instead of what they cannot do. This has built the confidence of all learners - as they understand that they can work to their strengths and embrace the strengths of others to help them be successful. This in turn developed risk taking knowing that others 'had their backs'.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? Similar to above, through a strength based focus, students knew others were relying on their strengths, and in turn others on theirs so tasks were (generally) tackled longer and students did encourage each other to stick with a task.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Generally it has helped highlight that our differences should be celebrated and that fitting in should come down to acceptance - rather than being the same.

The product was well put together and once organised (the wall), was reasonably self-explanatory. In the case of our Kura, I attached this kit to our Health and Puberty unit (Year 7 & 8 students) that we were looking at - so it fitted in well with the Ko wai au? Who am I? aspect of the unit but was also complementary to self worth - Te Tipu Me Te Huri O Te Tangata - Growing & Changing, Ngā whanaungatanga - Relationships - including relationships with ourselves, and accepting who we are. The class was able to use the cards each morning during our whakahihiko (check in) time and over time, learnt to share with their peers in a whole class environment. We had a motto of 'what does in the classroom stays in the classroom' so learners were more comfortable sharing. The books were not possibly utilised as well as they could be - but that is on me, not in the quality of the book.
