Our tamariki have loved this kit. They love checking in everyday and writing in their journals. This kit aligned so well with our resilience project we already have running in school. They were able to take their prior knowledge from that and apply it.

was thankful when the kit arrived. Easy to follow, set up and introduce to my class. However, after a term of prompting the students to use it, I decided to see if they would without the prompting. Slowly usage became less and less. I monitor the kit and those with "Flat Batteries." It is a good way for them to anonymously engage me without drawing attention to themselves. The wall and activities have not been used. This all may be due to the age and want of a 12-13-year-old boy wanting to engage with this type of product. a digital self-check might be more effective.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them The students enjoyed thinking about where they were feeling each day, and had lots of discussions around the different areas of confidence as outlined in the booklet.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The booklet was impactful as it helped connect whānau at home with learning at school and made the students think deeper about what confidence means for them.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Myself and other teachers at my school who also received the kit, will be using the kit once again next year. It has helped the students to identify and continue working on areas they mean to boost their ideas of themselves in.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence It helped the student develop their understanding of what confidence means and how it can be shown by themselves and seen in others.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? This kit has had a positive effect on my classroom community, the students developed a deeper understanding of themselves as a person. They have continued to ask to use the kit even once it was packed away.
What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Is this a repeat question, or have I read it wrong?
The Dove My Self Confidence kit is a fantastic addition to a year 5-6 classroom, especially at the beginning of the year. The kit is very well-resourced with top-quality cards, boxes and even a great mat for helping the students to centre themselves. The booklets that come with the kit help to create a link between home and school which gives more mana to the whole process by bringing whānau along for the learning.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "It was really cool to check in in the morning and my teacher could see if we needed to talk." "I felt a bit stupid at the start but the others thought it was cool. I liked that standing mat."
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The opportunity to check in another way was great as I can often be busy before school. The kids were able to recognise how they were feeling and communicate that.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Looking inward to gauge feelings and accountability with this. Building resilience.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence It has let them see that other's feelings and emotions go up and down too and that there are choices on how to respond to this.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? It has let them see that other's feelings and emotions go up and down too and that that is all part of growing up.
What a great set-up. It is visual and can be run and managed by the class. It becomes a great check-in tool and super conversation starter if kids arrive 'out-of-sorts'. It started off with a lot of enthusiasm but we found that it is something that needs to be kept up as we did become busy and the kids' interest was up and down.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Boost #1 - Listen like you mean it. Had a time when the class wasn't listening to each other when sharing. Pulled out this card and talked about it, which helped them understand why we need to listen and show respect to the one speaking. Boost #2 - Be Fair. Play Hard. It was good to pull out this card to talk about fair play during games and PE.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The orange cards because they give some really good examples of how to pick yourself up when just feeling a wee bit low.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That it is ok to check in on your feelings and emotions. eg: when the All Blacks didn't win the Rugby World Cup final, we discussed our emotions the next school day and they were able to do so as we had practised discussing emotions and feelings.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Different ideas and strategies to manage one's self.

A lot to set up and the students didn't engage much with the activities. I thought it would fit in well with our term inquiry topic, but became too much of an extra.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I love the tokens and how we can put ours in and then look to the wall pockets and read some suggestions on how to charge our battery. I like being able to help my friends when my battery is full. I liked going to the wall pockets or writing a note to my teacher if I am in the red so she can chat to me and help me.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The check in tokens for a quick check in. The pockets for them and their friends to read and take part in independently. There was a lot of reading and discussion about the wall pockets they went to them when they needed support. Sometimes the classroom is really busy and it's hard to teach and be there for everyone right when they need you.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? If your battery is charged and you are feeling good pass it on / pay it forward to help someone else.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence They are more confident to share their feelings and what is going on with them to their friends and the letters to me were great. They feel comfortable passing me their red note to let me know quietly what is going on for them.

The tamariki really enjoyed working through the different activities. The little booklet, letters and wall pockets were a real highlight. They really enjoyed how interactive the activities were. Lots of talking about charging their own batteries and I loved how it made them think about helping others out when your is full. They haven't really had much time on that perspective.
