Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I have a number of students who struggle with friendship issues. The kit has helped them to understand some of these emotions. Coming in after playtimes they are to step on to the charging station and have a think about how they are feeling.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The check-in tokens were a hit! Students love things that are tactile and physical. Some of the boost cards and content was slightly above the ability level of some reading was a little high for my students. They are probably at the lower age of what this is best suited for.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I am going to continue using some of the aspect of the kit throughout Term 4. It has opened up students and I hope that they continue to feel comfortable to share their feelings and struggles with friends, teachers and parents more openly.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Working at a christian school we are able to have a designated time each day to discuss issues such as confidence, friendship, struggles and care for one another through prayer. This kit sided along side the studies we have been doing about loving and caring for one another and paying forward the kindness! So it fitted in well. Has also helped students who struggle to understand their own emotions!

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? Encouraging students to take active steps to help themselves before they reach redzone where they need to ask for help encourages them to build resilience and bounce back quicker from minor incidents.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? My kids are aways super excited to try new things and see new changes in the classroom each term so they were pumped to spot the charging station after the holidays.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them When receiving their letter from their caring adult, one student said 'man, this is emotional. I didn't know she cared so much'. Another student when working through the booklet - 'Hey I do that all the time, that's my strength!' And realised that while they can be seen as the 'disruptive kid' they have some strengths that make them a great member of the class.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The letters from a caring adult and the 'Check your Charge' pages in the book that shows the students how they can show each of the aspects.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? For many, just knowing that they have strengths that are maybe a bit more hidden than those 'tall poppies' that are out there and that their strengths are just as valuable will be so important to them going forward. They now have more confidence to be themselves rather than what they think others think they should be.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence They all know of at least one, some many, adults in their lives that they can rely on. Being Year 7 & 8 they often start to think that they are too old to talk to their parents or that it's 'awkward' but they are now more forthcoming with sharing their emotions with those around them, including adults. They now have the confidence in themselves to help others more around the school and be more positive with each other. Which totallty changes the culture in the classroom.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? The students are more positive and supportive with each other. They are more willing to participate as they don't fear judgement from others as much. Part of this is becasue they are also just more confident in themselves and know who theyt can turn to if something does go wrong.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? More positivity and support with each other in the classroom. More self-confidence. Students more willing to take risks and complete work of various types. Greater engagement from parents, including some who hadn't enaged before.

“A great kit! My whole class engaged with it and it worked really well to support many aspects of my classroom. The letters from a caring adult were a challenge to collect in from whanau, but were totally worth it! The change in my students after receiving their letters was instant! I would recommend this kit.”

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? it is okay to feel the way I do but it is how I act that is the most important. I am feeling happy so I need to ask consent to give a hug. I am grumpy, walk away and have some time out.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence The ability to express how they feel in a safe environment. Recognise other people have different ideas and beliefs and to respect these. Keep thinking about the wonderful things that I can contribute and the qualities they have.

“'Excdellent resource. My children loved filling in thte journal anf putting their daily feelings into the box, with no judgement. once child put her token into red zone and iasked her what was going on. She said her Mum and DAd were fighting. The charging station is also a big hit but we are working through using is sensibly and not jut standing on it for the sake of it. Fantastic resource and has worked well with our changes at pubertity lessons.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The charging station was a hit. They used this consistently. Students also really liked the letters from parents - many felt very humbled by this experience.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Letters from parents had such an impact. A lot of kids felt happy emotional. This brought so much joy.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them ("Oh I didn't want THIS one. I'm going to swap it for a physical activity one - I know I need one of those today". In other words, they really don't need the cards anymore. And when I was conducting a focus group on student well-being, I asked what they thought the school could do to improve student well-being. "Every class should have a charging station."

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The charging station - because of the lasting impact. The Dove videos - because of the students reflections of them and the deep conversations we had around them about the impact of self esteem of both males and females, particularly because of media and social media pressures.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? awareness of how they can manage their own emotions

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Being able to talk more openly about emotions as a journey or continuum - knowing they can change and that we can change them - but that they can control us if we are not careful

“When I first looked at everything that was in the pack, I was a little overwhelmed and didn't know where to start, so I went to the support page on the site to ask for help, read the Q&As that were already there and followed the steps there.Phew. I set up the display first - it was a great hook. I allowed my students to have a nosey before we started using it and I did the introductory lessons while I sent home the letters to the families so we had them there when we needed them. I found the lessons were great - we could go through them at our own pace (and I could add extras if we needed them). The most valuable thing, though, according to the students, was the charging station. They use it daily, before school, during school, they pass me red notes while I'm teaching, knowing that I'll read them and follow up as soon as I can, or just understand how they are feeling. Mostly, though, they love being able to self-regulate when they are "in orange". I laugh when they pull out an orange card and say things like ("Oh I didn't want THIS one. I'm going to swap it for a physical activity one - I know I need one of those today". In other words, they really don't need the cards anymore.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I loved the compliments my parents gave me in my "Caring Letter", I enjoyed watching Mum fill in the caring letter with me and tell me about her earliest memories. It was special!

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Caring Letters as the students got to spend quality time with their parents. They then brought them back to school and used them as inspiration for a piece of writing.

“As DP this term, I have had the time-consuming job of organising relievers. This has meant I have not had time to set up the kit and I had no wall space for the resources. I was hoping for some quick easy-to-use resources to complement the teaching I was already doing. I did use the "Caring Letters" and these were great. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to use the rest of it as it was very complex to understand and I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it. Thanks so much for supplying it and I hope to do a better job of utilising it next time. My request would be for more one-off activities that are a bit more user-friendly and easier to pick up and do a series of one-off lessons with. Ngā mihi nui Rachel”
