Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Student 1: "I like coming in everyday and charging up, and telling everyone else to charge up too. I like reading the green cards and helping other people." Student 2: "The letter from my Mum and Dad made me feel happy and loved."
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Charge Up station - kids loved the interactive aspect, making it part of their routine and knowing that I was checking the box everyday to see how everyone was feeling.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They have learnt that many people in this world love them, and care for them, and that it is also important to love and care for themselves.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence The booklet and the letters from home made my students think a bit deeper about how they think about themselves, and what inspires them. When they are not feeling confident we can revisit those pages/letters that inspired and motivated them originally, and reconnect to those feelings of confidence and positivity.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? The Charge Up station has been the most helpful in this aspect, especially with students that were popping up as "red" regularly in the beginning. My regular chats with them, and helping them explore the cards on a day-to-day basis, set them up to be in the red zone less and less as the term went on.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Especially when referring back to their booklets, letters, tasks and charge up cards, students are reminded of their learning around self empowerment and confidence. It has provided our classroom with a powerful tool to bring daily bursts of positivity and confidence to everyone in it, while providing an opportunity to support and motivate others.
What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? ...
My class of year 7/8s is one in particular that needed a positive push at the beginning of term 2, after a rough start to the year for all of us and some less-than-ideal behaviours towards peers beginning to occur. The students immediately engaged with the program, particularly taking a shine to the daily charge up area, which we will continue to use for the rest of the year. The most difficult part of the program was getting whanau to engage and support their students in their tasks, but it really paid off for those that we managed to get involved.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them It gave me ideas of what to do when I was feeling frustrated. I liked having a place to go and just cool down. I liked the bean bag there.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The envelope idea cards, because it gave the students realistic strategies to try
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? All feelings are ok, its what we do with them.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence It hasn't really for the majority of my class, but they are a quite closed minded bunch - for the few who used it, I think they have developed some useful strategies to deal with their emotions.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? as above
It didn't work as well with the group of students I have. I can see it working better with a group that are more open and reflective. My current class although awesome thought they were a bit too cool for this activity. I did however see a couple using it from time to time. I would definitely recommend having it a privatish place within the class as this did help with the few students who used it.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them When my family are busy I know I can approach my teacher. I know my class mates care about how I am feeling.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? My Self - My students did not realise how many differences there were between them, from the house they lived in to how they could approach an adult, to expected chores to paid chores... Also not really being able to state what they were good at or how others saw them. Text signals also helped them to see that they were not on their own when feelings/emotions took over them .
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? It is okay to be different but I need to show respect for others beliefs.
In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence They can self manage their reactions/feelings and have an issue debated in class anonymously.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Parents were shocked in how on top of all the curriculum to be covered we felt this was important. Positive comments were given by parents.
What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Positivity, resilience, self confidence
The kit was very beneficial to my class unit. I used it to provide normality in how we all are unique and have different querks, habits that all seem ok to us, but may have feelings of anger/sadness to others. What this led to was a visual display in the classroom of what we could do if we were feeling uncomfortable, angry, sad or even just off task. This included us having a class box that was shared anonymously, of the actions, words or looks that had made us react during the day. We then made a visual chart of actions we could take to self regulate our emotions, E.G. go for a walk, listen to music, go skipping, draw a picture, read a book etc. Students then also stated that sometimes good memories and things that we liked to do could change the way we were feeling. This led to each student taking photos of things they either liked doing, for example a picture of them playing soccer, family pictures, favourite animals, pop groups, a photo of a memorable event etc. and added these onto a poster for each individual. This led to us making a large box, which was painted black and then decorated with paint pens by the students. They also decided to write on the box - MY HAPPY PLACE. Over the term students used this box more often than any of the other options provided to change their mood. During the term students have also realised what they do can affect others in a negative way and they are trying much harder to think before they act. Doing all of these activities have provided my students with a stronger self confidence and realisation that they themselves can have an impact on how they are feeling and what they can do to change that without relying on others to sort this out for them.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "It was interesting to think about how I was actually feeling during the check-ins. We talk about what zone we are in but it was really fun to read a little phrase on each card." "I really liked getting the letter from a caring adult. It made me feel really good about myself."
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Letter from a Caring Adult: It was great for the tamariki to firstly think about someone they believed care for them. It took some ākonga a while to think of someone, but when they did think of someone, it made the experience that much better.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Thinking about what makes them themselves on the inside. There isn't too much you can do about your outside appearance and people usually wish they had something different about themselves, but you do have control over how you treat people and the way you carry yourself.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Ability to think about how people's actions may or may not effect our emotions. Ākonga are more willing to engage in thinking about how their feeling and "check in" with themselves and their peers.

Great way for tamariki to start thinking about a variety of aspects of their social lives. Using the portraits was great for ākonga to start noticing that we all judge people and are judged ourselves by the way we look. Getting futher into the kit, the messages in the check in stations were fantastic and actually pretty deep for the Year 5/6 class to start reflecting on. We combined the Circle of Influence activity with a Circle of Control activity and discussed things that are in and outside of our control. This connection worked really well for a few different tamariki.
