Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Tokens in the kit. The individual booklets were great too - as children had the ability to do this discretely.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Everybody is different, and everybody had good and bad days.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The shrink and boost cards were fantastic to discuss issues that were relevant to the students.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? So many useful discussions and students helping other students in such a mature way. I have loved using this kit in class.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? This has had such a positive impact on the whole class and some issues we had been trying to deal with. I highly recommend this kit!

“This was just what my class needed. There had been some unkind behaviour happening between certain groups of students and also within some long term friend groups so this couldn't have come at a better time. It helped everyone to work out some useful strategies for disagreements and to remember to focus on kindness with each other.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them One student was able to verbalise how they felt on a particular day, which was unusual for this person. Student two was able to begin to realise when they needed to remove themself and breathe to reset.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The tokens and being able to speak about how they were feeling.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? More awareness of how they are feeling in relation to others in the class.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Not all have embraced this kit. Some students in this class are very confident in themselves so didn't get the full benefit from this.

“This kit was very helpful for some students in this class. They gained a bit more confidence in themselves by recognizing some of their feelings and how it affected them during the day. Each morning each student put the token in the appropriate box - we had some who put it in the red and then decided that was not the right one for them. I feel that most students gained something from the activities provided. The activity booklet was really helpful and some students need to finish this off. We will continue to use these next term. Thank you once again for providing us with these amazing kits. Annette Pickering and Simon Pepper”

“The students loved the resources. Token check in happening daily. I would love to see a QR code on the top of the box to send you straight to the resources as logging into different pages on the site was like a rabbit hole that I didn't have time for. I found the resources after I had introduced the booklet on my own way. Would be great to make resources accessible and easy to find for time poor teachers who want to make a difference for their students:)”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I liked taking the letter home and reading what my mum wrote about me" "I like all the cards and getting to choose one and use the ideas to help me when I'm feeling bad"

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The videos stimulated a lot of conversation with my students about the things we say about ourselves. I loved watching their eyes light up when I shared the three words I had chosen for them. Having letters written by a trusted adult brought so many smiles to my students faces and I had parents comment how much they enjoyed writing them.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I hope they will take away some strategies they can use when they need a boost of self-confidence.

“I found this kit had some amazing resources in it. Teaching mainly year 4's a lot of the activities in it were a bit heavy for our tamariki. I adapted some of them and was able to use parts of the kit. I loved the letter from someone you love part. This allowed the tamariki to have something positive and tangible from someone in their life.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I am happy to be able to stop and work out how I'm feeling, as I come into class each day. The booklet that we used most days was pretty great too". Another student who struggles with anxiety, quietly did this each day and read the cards thoughtfully. In discussion with this student, they commented that they had enjoyed them and the booklet would be helpful at home.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? For fun the mat was awesome and gave the kit a beautiful 'place' in our class. One student had experienced the kit at his primary school and was pleased we were doing it here. I think the follow-up cards were awesome but we had to remember to go over some of those to 'highlight them' The booklets were my favourite bit.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? It's OK to be 'not OK' and that there are helpful and accessible hints and people to talk to, if they want.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Students were hesitant at first but it became a habit in their minds during this time. They became more confident at being more honest, as time went on.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? That's hard to judge but one student in particular was able to express their change in approaching their heightened emotions, had helped them be more resilient.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? Expectations are that you join in with what we're doing; in general students were happy to share with their buddies (at their tables) in a less formal or obvious way and more students were happy to share their learnings with the whole class, as the kit proceeded.

“We have trialled all sorts of starters to our day, including various mindfulness activities, te whare tapa wha and breathing. This kit was awesome. Students loved the ease and accessibility, the 'change' and interestingly the cards were beautiful to help, when needed. Thank you - the display of this was beautiful. I changed the cards once a week so they had access to a lot of them and I found that more mature students were able to step-in, when studetns were low and either help or let me know. Wonderful! Thank you, nga mihi!”
