Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them II like not having to speak about why I am mad, because i just have to tick the things i need help with.“The class wall display was easy to use when my teacher showed me how”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Red cards for my 3 boys to use because they didn’t have to talk right away, but I as the teacher could still read their cards and talk with them about it later on.Using the green cards to pay it forward when they were feeling good was a great part of this kit.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That all their emotions are important no matter what, and that they will be heard

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? It has helped my students become more communicative

“The resources for this kit were great! The class display is great too. I enjoyed doing this kit because it supported what i had already been doing in my class with zones of regulation and the use of the six bricks resource. Children were able to use the kit to self regulate when they were mad (3 boys) and when they were happy and wanted to pay it forward, which was really neat to see. Using the red cards when boys were mad was great because it meant that they could get a card and write down or tick what was going on for them when they were ready and i just had to follow it up later by reading the cards. This system allowed boys to tick more than one thing and it also offered them a solution sometimes, or to speak on their behalf when they had no words to speak. I will be using this system from the start of the new school year along side zones of regulation and the six bricks programme.”

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? has worked for minor conflicts and times of strong feelings

“I loved some of the parts of this kit. The tokens were a hit with class but they did end up getting lost a bit around the classroom. My year 4 class this year is quite immature and some of the concepts were a bit deep for them. They loved filling in the booklets but it took quite a bit of explaining for each page, especially for my lower-level readers.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Recharging makes me remember that I can be the best me. I loved looking at the photos and trying to work out what sort of person they are and seeing what different people thought.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Charging station - Kids started using it more than I thought they would and I will be leaving it up.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I hope this kit will leave a legacy of acceptance of both themselves and others around them.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I had no idea that's how other people saw me" after a class discussion after watching the short clip about the artist drawing without seeing the people. "I can now talk about my emotions and seek help"- from the charging stations and class discussions

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? I feel the begining setup was really important and did the setup step by step. It built a good foundation and also allowed great discussion about how we may see ourselves and then how others see us. Noticed a real confidence booster. The cards and charging station were also very useful for the kids to check in with their emotions.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? An increased sense of self worth and understanding of what they would change or see as flaws no one sees.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence By bridging the conversation about emotions and recognising it is okay to ask for help but there are also other strategies they can try first.

“This kit has been amazing for my class. I had noticed that many of my students were quite hard on themselves and struggled to think of positives. They had little to no resilience and this meant they were very hard on themselves and others. This kit was great in building their confidence, to recognise what made them unique and what others see in them even if they do not. They are more open to share their feelings and talk about their emotions which has been very useful in regulating themselves in all areas of the school.”

“Thanks for the kit. I liked all the support material that went with the kit. My students used it to check in each day and this let me know how they were feeling and manage my connection with them throughout the day. I did find it hard to create a space large enough to mount the charging station. A kit like this would be great to start the year with. It helps you build relationships, support students to connect with their feelings and supports overall hauora.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The voting system was great giving the chance for students to pass on how they felt. I also like the booklets that they could fill in about themselves. We are still exploring parts of the kit as we have had an incredibly busy term but we are working to include It in our daily life and zones of regulation work.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The students are more confident to express how they feel and are able to articulate how this is affecting their learning.
