“I really enjoyed this kit. As always School kits take you on an unexpected journey. The Dove kit created a platform with the charge station and check in box that provided a safe private way of sharing how individuals felt. I was able to quickly pick up on lows, and facilitate supporting the student back to a positive zone. This create a strong sense of trust between myself and some of the children. Thanks so much.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The check in tokens have been brilliant and are often used twice a day.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? All feelings are okay, it's what we do with them that matters.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I really liked looking at the portraits and it's true about how we think we are not beautiful. I liked hearing how others look at me." - Cara 11, "I don't like talking about things much but it was easy to use the Charging Station, especially on days when I came to school mad." - Ezekiel 10

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The letters from the parents had huge impact, the kids loved reading them and some of the parents said they think it's something that should be done regularly. The Charging Station was really popular and helped to intervene at times before things got too emotional.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Understanding themselves better and thinking about how they are perceived by others.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Realising their strengths, especially things that they didn't think were a strength before this kit. Knowing how their parents are thinking about them. The shrink and boost cards gave them good strategies to use.

How has this kit helped develop student resilience? Some children are able to explain how they are feeling using the charging station as a neutral area. We have a shared understanding that we all experience times when we are frustrated and down and the different ways we can deal with these.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? We have shared language now about beliefs, feelings and strengths.

“We had lots of highly engaged tamariki, they really love exploring their own feelings and details about their lives. We used this in conjunction with our Sexuality inquiry (Changes at Puberty) and it covered a lot of the objectives from the health curriculum in an easily accessible way. The charging station was very popular and they loved the 'My Self' booklets.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Students enjoyed the checkin box as it gave them an opportunity to have feeling heard when this is not always the case. The Myself booklet were also great at digging deeper into people who are able to support them when in need.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Differs depending on which child

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them If I'm in the red zone, I can fill out a red card. I like the charging station, I can do a reset or a breathing exercise when I go there.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Wall display - the cards were excellent. The charging Station offered a great reset for the tamariki. Loved the letters from an adult too actually!

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Emotions run through us like the ocean and we can recognise it, name it then reset it!

“I used this with a Y3/4 class. The children were familiar with Zones of regulation so it fitted in really well with that. They loved the charging station and the wall display made for an easy point of reference. Expectedly, some fo the body image stuff wasn't age appropriate so left that out but I see it would be great with seniors. The little booklets complemented the lesson plans, thank you very much!”
