Power it Up - Paper Circuitry 19 Reviews

Kids were really engaged in trying to figure out how to work the light and make the circuits. There was some disappointment when connections didn’t work but most of them figured out it was important to carefully constrcut the circuits and make sure it was all connected. I really liked how you drew the picture first then constructed the circuit on the next page because at first kids did not understand why they had to make the ice cream picture but they soon worked it out. Alot of engagement and discussion for a number of days.

Outstanding. This kit led onto the students designing their own light up Xmas tree. The step by step guide was excellent. Perhaps just a little more detail on how the Buzzer worked as it took us a while to get it going. Also some safety tips or a page outlining the dangers of the battery. I had a boy in my class who took one home and then ended up swallowing it! Ending up in hospital but was it passed naturally! Great kit would love to have it again next year

It was an amazingly well put together kit - to have everything provided was awesome. The students loved having a go at making their own circuits in the booklet and were so excited when the lights came on! We didn't get time to complete all circuits at school so they took the equipment home to do more at home. It was great to have the video on YouTube showing how to do the first circuit - this was really really helped from a teaching point of view.

Great little kit - was a bit tricky at the beginning to get things working but worked it out. Children loved exploring the kit and were very excited when it worked for them, great problem solving and working together happening. Thanks heaps

The kids loved creating the circuits and experimenting with the gradually more complex set ups. There were plenty of resources in he box so the kids were able to use the left overs to create light up Christmas cards etc. The one fault was that the buzzers did not work- luckily another teacher had spare alternative buzzers that the kids used.

Thank you so much for this resource. I used the booklets and the associated videos with the two Year 4 classes I take for science. The children loved making paper circuits and I let them take home the booklets after we had finished making them in class. We got to make all of the circuits in the booklet the only problem I had was getting the buzzers to work (after trying a few things to get them to work I gave up). I also really liked how you supplied a page at the end where the children could attempt to make their own circuit. The resource was absolutely brilliant and the children all loved it, especially those children who do not always succeed with written tasks.

I thought this was an awesome resource (and so did the students). They were totally engaged and enjoyed getting the circuits working. The only downside was that we couldn't get the buzzers working. At the end of the year the students were applying their knowledge to make Christmas Cards that incorporate working circuits with multiple LED's and switches.
