A MASSIVE THANK YOU FROM ROOM 1 AT GLEN TAYLOR SCHOOL We have loved playing with the tiles. I let them all explore the tiles at their own desires, they made a lot of words they know. We then loved making weird, wacky and wonderful sandwiches. We have used the tiles in our phonics lessons to make as many words as possible with the focus sound. We love seeing what other healthy foods we can think of that start with different letters, and we often compare what is in our lunch boxes. There are so many more ways that we have used the tiles, and how many more ways we are yet to use them. THANK YOU SCHOOL KIT SQUAD

Tell us about an unexpected outcome from having used this kit. Children are making new words. Great activity matching letters. Children at varying levels are helping each other make new words to then use in their writing. Playing bingo games. Also using printed materials for activity work at Literacy time. Character
We had a fabulous time sorting the Disney tiles alphabetically and then making words up. Thank you school kit for a fabulous resource. Children love finding all the Disney characters. Some children have then been writing about these characters.

Tell us about an unexpected outcome from having used this kit. Most of the tamariki using the resource were new entrants who are just starting to recognise their letters. We talked about 'most' and 'least' and counted the number of tiles for each letter. We have lots more planned for this kit - sight words, maths - g
Thank you so much to School Kit and Countdown for this amazing resource. Our tamariki loved ripping into each wrapped tile and discovering what letter was hidden inside. We loved that this is such an open ended resource that can cover so many different parts of the curriculum (literacy, maths, statistics, measurement etc). I know it isnt a School Kit issue, but It would be awesome in the future if Countdown could include lower case letters instead of just capitals.

Thanks so much for this kit. We loved creating our own games with the tiles. We eat the letter of the week on Friday and it has been fun ticking off all of the different Kai we have tried this year. It has also given us ideas for the tricky letters.

Tell us about an unexpected outcome from having used this kit. My class were so engaged. The tiles were used in so many different ways from letter knowledge to memory of disney characters.
This kit was amazing. The best kit I have had.

Tell us about an unexpected outcome from having used this kit. The unexpected outcome has been the influence this kit has had on oral language development and how this has come through in their ability to add further information to their writing.
From the moment we opened this kit the children engaged in some imaginative challenges from fishing for letters of the week, time challenges for the most CVC words, practicing spelling words and utilising to titles for supporting letter formation. The other components of the kit were integrated into the development of a supermarket with a cafe where the chefs could make sandwiches to order based on the food item cards. The kit is fully inter grated into our literacy rotations as a loved activity and our supermarket/cafe is a popular activity in our Discovery sessions. Thank you so much Countdown and School Kit for this awesome resource.

Tell us about an unexpected outcome from having used this kit. Children needed to use knowledge of both lower and uppercase recognition for some activities and needed to search for alphabet cards that had both. Was able to assess who needed more alphabet activities.
A great resource running alongside the Disney tile promo so children were highly motivated. Variety of simple games children could play without support. Only using uppercase letters was only aspect of the kit that was disappointing
