The kit provided a dynamic and engaging framework that transformed our classroom into hub of learning which tied in well to our measurement unit. From the outset, students were captivated by the idea of world records. They were excited to explore the provided resources, and it initiated fun and funny world record ideas. The practical application of measurement concepts within this kit, was seamlessly integrated into our activities. Beyond the academic benefits, the DIY World Records Kit inspired a sense of wonder and ambition among our students. It encouraged them to think creatively and pushed them to set their own ambitious goals.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? linked to math, PE, conversations around learning how to lose and being a humble winner and writing a newspaper article on the competition that we had done.
Another great kit designed by my squad. Brought an element of fun, competitiveness, team work, thinking outside the box/creativity, and increased physical activity to the classroom. The students really enjoyed it!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? PE links, as we discussed why some of the records were difficult or impossible.
My class all created their own records, which took some longer than others. They were excited about this and also enjoyed the little practical activities along the way. We didn't do the whole class's records, as this would have taken too long. There were loads of sporty records, which took us outside and it was tricky for some students to be responsible and move along to the next station.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? Within this kit it supported our maths unit on measurement as it provided sand timers and tape measures to measure. We discussed how these are different tools to measure and we looked into how to interpret them accurately. We had good discussions around the accuracy of our measurements especially linking to the olympics.
