We loved this kit because it got us creating all sorts of world records. We also enjoyed the word superlative and using the timers, and bunting.

How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? They had to do measurement of time, length, height and width. Lots of adding and subtracting too.

This was great to look at with the Olympics as well. They loved getting the opportunity to create their own world records and break each others! The creativity was so awesome but also great links to maths - how do we assess how we have broken our world record?

Students often found that it was challenging to accurately and consistently measure something. This encouraged problem solving and team work.

The students were invested in this right from the beginning. I found it was a good kit for Term 4 as it was easy to pick up between the busy, mucky times that happen at this time of year. The students were all proud of their achievements and it allowed all students to be as competitive as they wanted to be.
