What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The website story resources and the dice were firm favourites with my year 3 class. They were so excited to continue to use the dice especially in other areas and they have been seamlessly integrated as a tool daily in the classroom.

“The kit itself is awesome. My favourite part about this kit and others is the story dice that you receive. I have been using these in both my reading and writing programme. I did not get through all of the kit with lockdown and will probably look at using it later in term 3. Once we returned to school I have been working through the respectful relationships kit as it was a way to restart the year in a positive way.”

“We used this kit briefly just before lockdown. We talked about what makes a great explorer and used this kit to link into our "How we communicate"inquiry topic. We enjoyed using the kit to promote a bit of creativity and story telling. We made up dance moves to story tell using the picture cards to prompt us. This kit also lead us to explore our pepeha and we created some visual artwork based on this. Unfortunately we did not use this kit further as lockdown happened.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The kit fit well with our learning about leaders and explorers. After Kupe we focussed on our local historical explorers. They liked using the kit to tell stories they already knew.
