“This was a wonderful kit that, as always, offered rich learning opportunities for learners. It was great to have something that was focused at a lower level for our Junior students. The stories and activities are great but we felt it was more appropriate for Year 3 and 4 and we are going to hand on to them to have a go with (We attempted to use with Year 1 and 2). We also weren't able to use it to it's full potential due to Lockdown. It is one we will be pulling out again and again though.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? This kit links and opens up aspects of all areas of the curriculum. For me, there will be a large focus on social sciences and science but with lots of links to literacy, numeracy and the arts.

“I was so excited to use this kit! Unfortunately, due to the covid-19 circumstances I haven't been able to yet. I plan to use this in Term 3 and have so many great ideas from the kit and also from the amazing teachers who shared photos on the facebook page. The resources in the kit are awesome and very high quality. I love that they can be used in a range of ways and in guided learning as well as independently. The curriculum links are so clear, but the kit also allows for freedom to go down different paths, led by teachers or children. I will definitely be posting when we have used the kit in class!”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Literacy was the obvious link for us, we loved the drama that we were able to use too. As always with Schoolkit, we appreciate the language links with the use os te reo. We need to expand our kits use more using stem - this is a term 2 focus.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We used this kit in our literacy. The kids enjoyed creating their own stories by using the story cards and shared discussion. They also enjoyed creating their own projects with the 'thing, that and for' cards.
