What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? the story telling was amazing, students were able to retell the adventures of the explorers- increased their oral language skills they learnt new vocabulary and were able to make links to other Curriculum areas , Maths and Art

How did you find the open format of this kit? The vibrant colours made it an inviting resource to use with the students. I used the You tube clips to guide me- thanks for the ideas. An Awesome resource- will definitely revisit again when we have more time to complete. Thank You

“Unfortunately I did not get time to teach this kit but I will say that I found it rather difficult to follow and found that some of the ideas were perhaps a it advanced for 5 year olds.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to use the dice as part of our storytelling programme as well as in writing and the children would also use them during learning through play. The poster was a great tool for Te Reo Lessons.

“Some elements of the kit were great for the year 2/3 classroom. I particularly enjoy the storytelling/oral language dice and the posters. Other elements of the box weren't so good for an MLE y2/3 setting.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? I found it very useful for working across the curriculum. I particularly liked the mat/poster which got us talking about direction, distance and measuring. The visual aspect of this was good.

“The students and I really enjoyed the Explorer Kit, especially the interactive activities. Due to the unexpected early finish last term we didn't quite get everything done that I would like to have. It was great to have such a range of activities that could then be built on or changed slightly to meet the needs of all the students.”
