“Due to the lockdown I haven't fully engaged with the kit. The respectful relationships kit took priority once we returned to school. However, we have started to learn about the life cycles of farm animals and have used the learning mat that came with it to learn the words in te reo. I have the full kit ready to go in week 1 of Term 3, where we will use it alongside our science inquiry. The children have loved the songs that have supported this kit and we have played the music during some of our learning from play. I have different farm play stations planned for new term, I would have loved to have started this kit earlier but with the lock down the respectful relationship kit needed to be brought forward.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to incorporate this unit across science, literacy and numeracy. The dice and picture cue cards/poster were great springboards for discussion and writing stimulation. The topic itself worked easily into math questions.
