What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It was great - we read The Wild Robot Escapes alongside this kit and it tied in very nicely with its setting.

This was a great kit - my class really enjoyed it. The resources provided were great and I really appreciated the lesson plans it came with. We found that there weren't quite as many lessons as we would have liked. The topic was very easy to integrate across several learning areas.

Due to the timing and Covid-19 all we looked at was how farming changes our community. We have students leave to go to new farms and other arrive.

I really enjoyed the farming kit and the flexbility it let me have in the classroom. The ideas were great. I found the dice slightly harder to use as my students were unable to read and complete that type of activity independently, however if it was teacher directed they could. I loved the art aspects and it was a great learning topic. Our school is in the country with farming being very common for our children so it was of great interest and a lot of learning and sharing occurred. Unfortunately we weren't able to do our farm trip because of the Covid-19 lockdown, which was out of anybody's control.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We added the word cards (e.g. grumpiest, smelliest etc) to our word wall. The dice were great for using after reading our big book of the week. The STEM cards were great for self directed learning. The whole class loved the colour mixing in art too.

We enjoyed the farming kit, but when discussing it with the kids they said they enjoyed the countdown tiles kit more. Unfortunately we were unable to arrange a farm visit. The would you rather cards were a BIG hit with the kids and opened up some really great conversations. The boys in particular were very interested in how dairy farms worked and then translated this into self directed learning on the iPads and creating their own farms using loose parts.

A fantastic kit. We had hoped to go to the farm in Term 1 but Covid Lockdown dealt to our plans. I absolutely love the kit tho. It will be easy for me to implement some insightful learning when we try again in Term 4.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Reading (allowed for some cross ability group work which was really cool), writing, oral language and The Arts. We also incorporated some 'free play' as well - constructing areas of the farm from class resources (Lego, blocks etc.)

How did you find the open format of this kit? I found it really good as we were able to be flexible with our approach as well as being a little more involved in how it was delivered. Taking a little more ownership of the content while having been provided with a range of amazing resources.

Kahikatea loved learning lots about farming - including where some of our food comes from. For a very multicultural classroom, many of our students had no idea what happened on a farm or where some of our food comes from - e.g. the milk that we get daily at school through Fonterra Milk for Schools. The students enjoyed learning about something that they could relate to on a daily basis and enjoyed sharing what they learnt with their families.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The online videos were a particular favourite to our students as they enjoyed seeing farms in action and lead to conversations in a range of curriculum areas (e.g. science, social sciences, maths)

Our students had great fun exploring the farming kit. The design made it accessible and easy to use. We loved the range of activities provided. The painting task motivated many of our tamariki and produced some lovely pieces of art. Many of our students were able to engage their prior knowledge, lives, and own interests to lead the learning of others
