“An overview and clear understanding of the purpose of each component in the kit would have been helpful in understanding and developing this unit of study. We as a class have enjoyed the path we took and there has been interest and full involvement. I think we could have delved deeper for greater understanding and knowledge with some suggestions about how to use the kit components to their full potential or purpose. The videos didnt show enough and without a commentary to go with them it made it difficult to understand what was happening. We loved the shades of green. This had a lot of potential to take it where you wanted. It was a clear and purposeful task. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to use this kit. I dont believe I have tapped into it's full potential however. We are working on it at the moment so we may still discover more yet as we experiment with the equipment.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? The STEM challenges were amazing and led on to some big creative projects such as cardboard box barns and milking sheds. I shared these ideas as home learning during lockdown and parents got into them too.

“Lots of information to share with the children. The cards with information are useful, however the language used is of a high level so it’s more suitable for older learners. The dice were complex and more useful for capable learners. It was unfortunate that due to covoid 19 that we missed our opportunity to visit a farm, however we have been able to organise a person from our community who could bring some of the farm animals to school.”

How did you find the open format of this kit? The fact that these kits didn’t come with strict instructions was great for our students using them at home. It meant families could use the kits however they liked without being stressed that they were doing it wrong.
