What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Word cards helped generate discussion and led to students sharing from personal experiences or opened the discussion up to explanations given. Which sometimes led to finding more info/videos on the internet.

“We didn't manage to do all of this kit due to the 'muckiness' of this year. The children enjoyed what we did do and being from predominately farming backgrounds, it was very topical for most of our class. I found this one didn't flow as well and wasn't as easy to use as some of the other kits we have done.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to link in Science looking at other animals/insects that supply foods for people. We were able to link our farming to the New World little gardens which was timed perfectly for our delay in doing this kit. The children chose fiction books.

“I feel like this School Kit had a lot of potential! Unfortunately when I received the kit we had planned for a farm theme at the end of Term 1 while the weather was still warm and we were still very much outside. However with lockdown falling where it did - it delayed our kit. We worked on the kit at the end of Term 3 and I wonder if we should have left it until Term 4 as we are working in the school gardens quite often now.”

“Due to Covid-19 we were not able to undertake a farm visit. We were sent the kit early in the year instead of September when we had requested it. It would appear that the team at yoir end do not comprehend the messages we send and 'impose' your own calandar on us at the chalf face. What a shame. WE chose to put this study off until a time when we will be able to get the most out of it by being able to visit a farm and let the students enjoy the experience.”
