I plan to do science experiments (as an example of planting near waterways), art - green painting using different elements, maths - sequencing, ordering patterns etc...and lots and lots of language

“We were fortunate enough to make a start on our farming kit before lockdown and the students loved it. They really enjoyed the Rosie's World YouTube clips, and the Would You Rather question cards. These activities were really beneficial in allowing our small rural school to practice tuakana teina (my Year 4/5 colleague and I were sharing responsibility for training a sports team for an upcoming tournament and had to combine our classes in order to fit sports practice sessions in during class time a four times a week). This was my first time using one of these new kits and the things that I love most about it is the flexibility and cross-curricular nature of the activities. We were able to combine elements of previous kits, e.g. making and taste testing ice cream, into our oral language and literacy program. We has also begun to explore where our food comes from. Although the children were very familiar with products that could be traced back to sheep and beef farming, it became evident that they were less familiar with agricultural farming practices and products. This is an area that we will revisit again once we have settled back into school-based learning. The story dice, would you rather cards, and activity cards (Paint a farm of 100 greens &; Invent your own farm) were very easy to adapt and add to our distance learning choice boards, and they were often the activities that students chose to do. This kit is a wonderful resource, and one that we will continue to revisit throughout the year and in the future. Thank you School Kit!”

“Unfortunately with everything that has gone on, I have not had the opportunity to dive into this resource as it was something I had planned to use later into term 1 to tie in with a trip we had planned to a local farm. The little question cards to take home we a good idea and one I was going to expand on with my own questions. The activity cards also gave me further ideas for art. We had started a class farm mural and were designing a farm just before lock down. I was looking forward to using the story too.”
