What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Loved diaromas. We made butter during lockdown (teddy's bears picnic) and children spread it onto bread for morning tea.

How did you find the open format of this kit? This was my first kit. Was a little unsure about the round cards and how to use them. Missed out on our booked farm visit and finishing this kit. Loved video links, book links etc and art activity.

Loved using this kit as we used this as part of our Enviroschool teaching. Kids enjoyed landscape art (NZ artist) and colour mixing. Children repeated this will different colours later. During lockdown, the children made butter during their Teddy Bear's picnic. Shame it was ruined by Covid!!! No farm visit.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It was really great for this because of its open format. The kids loved working together to create their own stories using the maps and adding images to them and then orally presenting their stories to the class. At home they created models and dioramas.

How did you find the open format of this kit? For a start it was a bit tricky thinking about how I was going to use it but I really liked seeing how others were using it on Facebook. It gave me some ideas to get started.

Our class had only just begun to use the Farming Kit before we went into Lockdown but I managed to create tasks from the kit for the children to do while learning from home which many of them completed and seemed to really enjoy. I really loved how the kit covered so many different curriculum areas and was so flexible in how it could be used in so many different way. I have a multilevel junior class from year 0-2 and thought the kit was great across all these year levels.

This is the first kit I have used. I wasn't really sure as to what I was meant to be doing or how to use. I have just recently seen a post about different ways to use the kit. The children enjoyed the topic but I felt I wasn't able to utilise the kits to get the most out of it. The art is really effect and looks great in my class. Unfortunately no photos at this time. They enjoyed making and design their own farms using animals and blocks

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It made for a rich experience - I particularly enjoyed observing my students as they created their Ted Bracey artworks. Wonderful to have a NZ artist to explore in a way that was completely within the capabilities of all my students.

How did you find the open format of this kit? Unnerving! Well at least at first. Challenged me as I prefer open ended for my students - but I found it hard not to have a starting point. However - not having a prescriptive format meant I could follow the students lead (which is good) and adapt it to t

Overall I really enjoyed this kit. It contained resources that will be able to be used again - which is really appreciated (dice in particular). My students are very low in language and experiences. It would have been so much better for them to actually do a farm visit. However as I said - overall a really good kit. It has highlighted the need for me to continue on from this kit - learning about where our food comes from. Thank you for your support - it is really appreciated - sometimes it can be difficult to step back and see what the students need in terms of learning. This kit has opened up a line of learning for us - thanks again!

We did not have time to use the kit but will when the children come back to school. The kit looks to be well resourced with fun interactive activities for the children to participate in.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We were able to integrate a fair amount cross-curricularly. The food colouring experiment we used in science and linked it to our Inquiry and data collection in Numeracy. The Thunder poem was popular and we created a movement activity to match for PE.

How did you find the open format of this kit? This is my first time using a kit, and while I see the benefits of it being open, I would have liked a bit more guidance on specifics that I could try. Your website was very helpful. It can be a bit overwhelming to open up with so many lovely activities.

My class had a lot of fun with this School Kit. Despite only just beginning to use it and being cut short by lockdown, the children enjoyed being introduced to farming in New Zealand. We jumped ahead and did the science experiment with white flowers and food colouring, as it fit in with our inquiry, and the children loved seeing how the quality of water could influence those things which rely on it. This made our plans to visit and tidy a local stream even more pressing (even though it has been put on hold until after lockdown.)

How did you find the open format of this kit? For juniors there needs to be more images. For example pictures and matching words for adult and baby animals. more simplified activities. More visuals and hands on activities.

I used it for my middle and and senior acceleration groups as these children are well below. The kits were a struggle for them so wouldn't say they were Junior friendly. Postives - loved the oral language cards and the large poster with dual language. However language used was too complicated. Spent a great deal of time explain the meanings of new words as I have very low learners. Lots of the children here don't even know what a cow is, so as a teacher had to simplify language and activities sometimes.
