This kit had quality resources. I really like the dice and that some of these resources are reusable. There was a lot of planning and options that could be used. It was difficult to use with our young or struggling students.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We talked about direction and co-ordinates when the children were designing their farms (they worked as cooperative groups). We also extended the learning to digital technology using Scratch (Y3).

How did you find the open format of this kit? I think it makes it a bit harder to get your head around at first, but I think does make it a bit easier to pick what works in your particular context.

There were lots of great ideas in the kit. I would have loved to have the vocabulary words on a poster to display in the classroom. The card was too small. My kids (Y3) loved designing their own farm and incorporated many of the ideas that they learned. We did the 100 greens art activity just before lockdown and it was a great success. There was a lot of conversation about how to make the different shades of green and the children did a lot of learning from each other. The farm poster is very attractively designed and is still on my wall! Some farm animals would have been a great addition I think.

It has been great using this school kit! The linked videos are fantastic and the Kumra Farmer video has been my favorite and has led to students writing Rhyme poetry. Can't wait to start the art project next week!
