What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Able to link to science and literacy. Using the mat we linked to maths with adding and subtracting cows in paddocks.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Sorry just seen this as above for my students Literacy was especially pro-active. For some of our students they were able to become the experts because of their prior knowledge around farming/milk/tankers etc.

How did you find the open format of this kit? Loved it especially as I was away for some of the time and the teacher in the space was able to easily pick it up and roll with the kit in the way she wanted to, while still keeping the students engaged.

“Most of the students were engaged with the farming kit. It certainly supported them in literacy. Many of the students were requesting their guided reading sessions to be around farm animals, so for some of our reluctant students it was very positive seeing their engagement. The art section was also very exciting for my artists within the space.”

How did you find the open format of this kit? As my first kit I found it a bit hard to get my head around how to use it, but I did like the flexibility of being able to use it in the way that best suited my class.

“We enjoyed the farming kit and were obviously disappointed that COVID cane along and disrupted our plans for a farm visit. The large farm scene was great for starter discussions on what they could observe and then was used as a background for maths problems using plastic animals. (If only I could find the photos that we took)”
