How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Such fun, and great motivation to get us going and get the task done. Sadly, when we received our bag from another class, the postcard poster wouldn't work, as there were cards missing and some doubled up. Very exciting to get mail from somewhere else!
Great to get kids writing, we loved the tin with items - a real hit in our class.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Our package arrived on time but working in a MLE, I held off opening it until our other kit arrived, buddy class had struggled with the task and had gone in their own direction, writing poems that did not relate to the objects in the tin. None of the post
Having used the Get NZ Writing Kit for the past two years I found this year's kit to be very challenging for our year 3 &; 4 students and we needed to do a lot of scaffolding for our students to be successful. The more capable students have taken something away from their experience but many were not ready for working at that level of thinking.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? The class was excited to receive mail from another class and town. It was very interesting for them to see the differing 'takes' the other school had compared to theirs.
Awesome activities that had all class members involved and thinking! They loved their final product and managed to get it all finished in time.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? Gives the activity a real purpose and audience. The children really enjoyed guessing what object each poem was based on as we read them aloud.
Loved the teacher guide, so much detail. The kids were super excited about the objects and loved putting the puzzles together.

How did the swapping of mail with another class add value to the GNZW experience? The students were thrilled to get work back from another school. We spent time on the map looking for where our sister school was. The students in my class put in their best effort, the school that sent us their work were of a much higher level. I sent a
The children and I loved the opportunity and the resources. I had a small class of 17 children they found the activity quite challenging as this year there are a lot of children who are struggling with writing and needed a lot of support. The children were so excited to find out what was hiding in the little yellow box. It generated a lot of discussion which is good.

Initially I thought it was too hard for Year 3 but spending a week on the activity worked well and we were all proud of our work.

The writing kit was challenging but a very worthwhile experience. The kids loved sharing their writing with their whanau too.
